Are you ED or RD? There are people that applied RD applied earlier than you. And I don't think they really got into the nitty of either RD or ED applications until the last week of November.
I'm RD!

Also, does it make a difference how many of the Penn-specific essays you do? My friend (an alum) recommended doing all 4.

Gotcha, well as an RD candidate, you haven't been skipped or anything given your submission time frame. The majority of those that went complete in September haven't even heard back and are only now going UR2!!

As per the optional essays--I think it is good to do at least one of them to show interest (especially the core values prompt because it is sorta like a why Penn). If you don't do one, it just flags to Penn that you didn't want to take some extra initiative. All four aren't necessary but it wouldn't hurt. And there are applicants that have previously gotten in that haven't done any. But they had really strong numbers.

In ED at 2:30 today! Couple of questions: What's the protocol for telling other schools you can't attend? Do we just shoot them an email? Also, when do all the other admits expect to get more information about the school?

Yea. Just a polite email withdrawing your application/admission

Just to be clear - the header titled "Requirements list" is red for everyone right? I applied RD and don't want them to think any ED supplement is coming... Thanks.

As long as you didn't check the ED box in your app you're fine

You should most likely get an email with your info

I have not, but I'm in at GW and other schools who have done the same thing. I wouldn't be shy about sending them an email asking how you can log onto the admitted student site

When did you apply? I am hoping it is because admissions are rolling like the Panda and everyone I heard on this thread applied way before me (would not surprise me if I was the last ED app submitted). I am really hoping they did not interview me in person to wait list or ding me so I have to keep the faith until I hear no and then move on if that is the case
I am an RD applicant that applied toward the end of September.

No. It's not reasonable. And even tongue in cheek it's getting old and stupid and obnoxious. This is literally the first day that RD people were admitted. Hundreds of others will be admitted. Just because you weren't in the first wave of calls doesn't mean jack shit, other than you don't have a decision. You know when you can assume a bad sign? When you receive a rejection. That's when you can assume a bad sign.

Thank you for your kind response. My apologies for reading too much into the events of today. I will keep your advice in mind! Best of luck to everyone in the coming weeks.

Wasn't all directed at you. It's just been all over the place and it peaked with yours. Apologies for snapping, but it's getting ridiculous trying to guess based on a singular days worth of events.

Same dates here.
ED completed on 11/11. UR1 11/23, UR2 12/2. did not hear back yet.
I thought Penn doesn't do interviews??

I'm starting to believe my reviewer has been abducted by aliens (I'm part of the stuck on 11/30 UR1 crew). There couldn't be any other plausible explanation, like having a life outside of admissions or even dealing with those pesky ED applicants.

This is great, especially since I am also in the 11/30 UR1 crew
