Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
I think wait list interviews they ask more about how likely you are to attend, your current law school plans, and then general resume stuff. Maybe pm some people who did post WL interviews last year

Wow... How did you get that number? Went through every profile?
That's a high number because I suspect a lot of withdrawal will happen in June/July. I think there is something different with the application pool this cycle. Also a lot more people are following the $$$$.

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
A little late to the party, but I'll post my information anyways.
Received a JS1 around May 7, and will be interviewing this week. Seems like the interview period will be between Monday ~ Thursday.
I'll post again after the interview, good luck to everyone.

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
Probably got the number by sorting the LSN Applicants data by status then counting. I also see in the Stanford wait list thread that a ton of those wait listed are depositing at Harvard so some movement might be dependent on other wait lists as wellHikari wrote:qwertyTLS wrote:we're up to 31 withdrawn acceptances on LSN

Have been off TLS for a while but am checking in to the WL! Good luck everyone!
Also sorting and counting on LSN is how I've done it in the past. It's very quick.

yeah i'd imagine waitlist movement from YS. but for Y (if it happens at all) would happen in may. not sure about stanfordMack.Hambleton wrote:Why June/July?Hikari wrote:Wow... How did you get that number? Went through every profile?qwertyTLS wrote:we're up to 31 withdrawn acceptances on LSN

Yeah Stanford movement is usually june/july but they don't take a ton of people. The vast majority of WL movement will still be in May most likely

Is the waitlist small this year relative to the number of people admitted so far?

I don't think anyone could know that outside of the admissions office. Why do you think so?Hikari wrote:Is the waitlist small this year relative to the number of people admitted so far?

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
The WL just does not seem as dynamic as in previous years. I think there were some pretty high numbers here. Or may be people are just waiting for more WL movement to come out.Mack.Hambleton wrote:I don't think anyone could know that outside of the admissions office. Anyone knows if there are still slots open next week. I hope they send more JS1 our way!

great analysis from comma split. this is probably our best (albeit imperfect) indicator of the WL. bigger with lower stats.Comma.Split wrote: 2013-2014:
Waitlisted: 99
Median LSAT: 172
Median GPA: 3.82
25th LSAT: 170
25th GPA: 3.72
75th LSAT: 175
75th GPA: 3.9
2014-2015:
Waitlisted: 121
Median LSAT: 171
Median GPA: 3.78
25th LSAT: 168
25th GPA: 3.64
75th LSAT: 172
75th GPA: 3.9
Conclusions: More people waitlisted this year. The quality of the waitlist is lower this year.
Any thoughts or ideas why this is?
Edit:
23% of this year's WLd applicants are at or above 173 LSAT (H's median), while last year that number was 42%.
Similarly, 33% of this year's WL'd applicants are at or above 3.87 GPA (H's median), when last years it was 41%.

hard question to answer but how many days after the post-WL interview do decisions typically happen?

Based on last year's timeline I would say that JS1bs and the first WL JS2s will probably start next week.mjf11412 wrote:hard question to answer but how many days after the post-WL interview do decisions typically happen?

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
agreed. because interviews go all the way until at least thursday, i feel like then early next week it's fair to assume JS1bs and then late next week JS2s. may 20th is my guessMajinBuu wrote:Based on last year's timeline I would say that JS1bs and the first WL JS2s will probably start next week.mjf11412 wrote:hard question to answer but how many days after the post-WL interview do decisions typically happen?
