Full ride now.
What did you leverage against them for that?
Also interested in this. UCLA full ride would be a dream.
Congrats on the full ride! Mind sharing some details with me? What were you originally offered/what did you leverage/stats?

Thanks!

So at what point should I panic and email Dean Schwartz about not getting a scholarship decision? I was admitted about a month ago and people with my numbers ordinarily get merit scholarships. Are we thinking they're still sending them out?

in today via phone call! 3.78/169, submitted application on 2/1 (I know, I know...)

Totally missed the fast track invite email, then randomly submitted my info 2 weeks after applying, emailed admissions and they were super nice about the whole thing, promised to get back to me with a decision within 2 weeks, which they certainly did.
Been lurking on the thread, seen some questions about it - if you received an invite and are still waiting for a response, it's worth a shot.

Wondering this too. LSN predicts sizable $$ and people will similar & lower already received. But worried about how to phrase the email too: "anon posters on LSN say they got money, where's mine?" :|

They've been very open about communicating. If you're really stressed out about it, I'm sure a politely worded email about when you might expect an offer would be just fine. But honestly? I think you young bucks need to chill. They've only sent one wave of offers so far that we know about, so they obviously aren't done. They could be sending out lowball offers to people they aren't sure are serious to weed them out or to high GPAs/LSATs that seem ready to commit to UCLA to see if they can get them for cheap right away. Or they could just be sending them in LSAC account number order and haven't got to ours yet. We have no idea what their strategy is, but I'm 100% positive they're not done yet and I'd rather wait and potentially get a better offer because the first round of offers got some withdrawals and freed up some more money than be insistent about it now and get a lower offer because nobody's turned them down yet and more of their money is tied up in other offers.

Speaking of merit aid, UCLA wouldn't give any consideration to offers from Davis in negotiation would they? I know they're not peers by ranking, but I was hoping the fact that they're both part of the UC system might carry some weight. I got pretty good money from Davis, and with need-based I'm expecting it to be close to a full ride. No idea what to expect from UCLA, but I'm super debt averse so Davis for free vs. UCLA/T20 with significant debt (or T14 with even more significant debt) is going to be a challenging decision.

Fair enough. Honestly, my concern is timeline. (Depending on offer) I plan on negotiating, which will take additional time on its own to work through the systems for each LS. At the same time, many schools have used some very strong language about deposit deadlines and muti-depositing, so would rather avoid that situation and have everything figured out by deadline.

Ask for extensions. Most schools with strong language will extend your deadline if you explain you are waiting on other offers and are not ready to make a final decision yet.

so is the consensus that it is still too early to ask about a scholarship offer if we haven't heard anything yet? I'm pretty conflicted about this because I don't want to seem too eager/ weird, but I also don't want to wait too long while all the $$$ dries up...

It's been less than a week since they made their first offers, so I don't think the money is drying up any time soon. But like I said earlier, they've been very open about contacting them with any questions or "to see where you stand." So no, I don't think it's too early to ask if it's stressing you out.

I know I've posted this before, but I'll do it again anyway, as it's not against the rules.

Anyone looking to move to LA beginning June 1st-July 31st? I have a really great spot in a really awesome location (1304 W.2nd St. 90026)! PM me for more details and picture

yeah. 1/26. I'm...surprised....by this. I've heard from schools that are located much farther north on that rankings list.

Applied mid December, can't believe it is March and still nothing. It would really just be nice to know either way so I could start making some decisions.
