Mine was a phone call (512 area code), I think they all are via phone.LWoodWDE wrote:How are people hearing about their acceptances, via email? Anyone want to share what the subject line was? I'm becoming neurotic about this now.

Those were erroneous administrative dings.

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
At least one of the administrative dings was admitted after requesting the informal reconsideration. Since then radio silence across this forum so I don't know after that.lawschool1741 wrote:My understanding was that they were essentially dinged either way, just accidentally hit send too early..but could be completely wrong.
But either way, somewhat positive that they weren't even accidentally dinged, right?Flokkness wrote:Got one from her as well.ellewoods817 wrote: Dean Ingram just sent out an e-mail saying that the saturday dings were an administrative error and asked for permission to do an "informal request for reconsideration"
The email I got also advised that I had been "administratively denied prior to the response date" and offered an expedited informal reconsideration because of the error.
Not an error here as much as a false start, sounds like. Just need to send in a Why Texas? by the response date to be reconsidered... deadline being tonight.
No way will an admit fly after this, but I wrote the damned thing after they asked so the least they can do is read it prior to snuffing my application.
"Good afternoon, Mr. FairchildFLT
Firstly, thank you for sending your Why Texas? statement. Yes, you were told correctly. Regretfully, you were among a group of applicants who were administratively denied prior to your response date. Please accept my wholehearted apology. The premature decision was unintentional. We would like to consider your addendum as an informal Request for Reconsideration with your approval. After review, if we are able to render a different decision we will expedite its processing. Do we have your permission? Your application has already been updated with the additional statement.
Again, please accept my apology for the administrative error."
It seems like our emails were pulled along with other OOS applicants who had not received a Why Texas. Now that the Why Texas statement has been added to our files, we will be reconsidered.

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
I think as a whole we were all accidentally dinged, but that doesn't mean that all accidental dings will eventually be accepted. I got the "sorry about that" e-mail on Monday mid-afternoon and was accepted Tuesday late-afternoon, so I think there's hope until you hear that you are officially out.lawschool1741 wrote:My understanding was that they were essentially dinged either way, just accidentally hit send too early..but could be completely wrong.

Still impatiently waiting. Wondering what time a call will come if one is coming? I've been accepted into Vandy and I'm in state for Texas, well, fingers crossed.

Wait for grades, wait for OCI interview schedule, wait for call backs, wait for job offers, wait for bar results, etc.lawschool1741 wrote:IT'S MADNESS!LWoodWDE wrote:Still impatiently waiting. Wait for the apps to open up, wait for your scores, wait for the LORs to come in, wait for them to acknowledge you submitted your app, wait for complete status, wait for decision, wait for financial aid, wait for negotiated financial aid. I DON'T WANNA WAIT ANYMORE!!
It's good practice IMO.

I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! 9 out of 11 schools I've applied to have gotten back to me and of course my number 1 choice (UT) is taking their sweet time.Uschoolqb10 wrote:Woof.BigZuck wrote:Wait for grades, wait for OCI interview schedule, wait for call backs, wait for job offers, wait for bar results, etc.lawschool1741 wrote:IT'S MADNESS!LWoodWDE wrote:Still impatiently waiting. What I came here to say. I'm glad they said grades would only be updated fridays, at least since I checked last Friday I know not to check for 2 weeks. Plus by now I'm so numb to waiting it's nbd.
Also, for 0Ls there's eating for sections, waiting for mentor groups, waiting for society, waiting for profs, waiting for classes, waiting for orientation, waiting for the first cold call, waiting for the first memo to be assigned. I think waiting is the biggest skill I've gotten out of law school

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
There's a lot of wait hate in this thread. I'm with y'all on that. Maybe we just need to each find our individual style of waiting.
Here's a few you might enjoy:
Like this...

...or like this...

...or like this, to show a few examples.

No matter your style, you'll probably still feel like this...

...interspersed with moments like this every time your phone rings with a 512 area code...

...and when you get in or receive your awesome exam grades, you'll feel something like this.

Enjoy the gifs and your holidays!

Is there a post of the year award on this site? If so, I nominate the above.

My wife and I found a 4 bedroom 2 bath room house for sale in Austin with one of the rooms already painted blue and one already painted pink for the kids. The 4th bedroom is orange with the longhorns emblem painted on the wall. Just need to hear back about that Why UT... (not that it would even still be available in 8 months.)

Might not even be available tomorrow with the crazy amount of people moving into Austin everyday.FairchildFLT wrote:My wife and I found a 4 bedroom 2 bath room house for sale in Austin with one of the rooms already painted blue and one already painted pink for the kids. If it's properly priced, they're just trying to decide which of the multiple offers they've received they want to accept.Uschoolqb10 wrote:Might not even be available tomorrow with the crazy amount of people moving into Austin everyday.FairchildFLT wrote:My wife and I found a 4 bedroom 2 bath room house for sale in Austin with one of the rooms already painted blue and one already painted pink for the kids. Oh yeah really? That's good to know. If we go to Austin my wife will probably go down first and scout the area.BVest wrote:If it's properly priced, they're just trying to decide which of the multiple offers they've received they want to accept.Uschoolqb10 wrote:Might not even be available tomorrow with the crazy amount of people moving into Austin everyday.FairchildFLT wrote:My wife and I found a 4 bedroom 2 bath room house for sale in Austin with one of the rooms already painted blue and one already painted pink for the kids. A friend of mine posted their house recently and it sold above what they listed it at within the week.
