I haven't had a date change since UR1 11/11 so I feel passed up. Not gonna worry too much yet, though.

This would seem to throw the interview=YP strategy idea out of the window...hitherim wrote:In via SC, RD

In by email! No interview or anything.
Applied 11/16, went complete on 12/1, nonspecific movement on 12/16, notified 12/22 (today). Status checker was updated with a welcome message.
25th percentile LSAT, 75th percentile GPA, AA male, non trad age, good WE and mild-to-interesting softs.
Good luck all!

Got the interview request today! LSAT&GPA>75. Just a silly question: what is a "YP candidate"?schmelling wrote:Not really, if hitherim was able to demonstrate a strong interest in Cornell then they may have just decided that despite his High numbers, he is not a YP candidate.cc78 wrote:This would seem to throw the interview=YP strategy idea out of the window...hitherim wrote:In via SC, RD

Re: Cornell c/o 18 Applicants
A YP Candidate is someone with very strong credentials for a school--so strong that they are likely to get into higher ranked schools. Schools Yield Protect when they waitlist these kinds of candidates because they are seeking to protect their yield.
The Cornell interview could be seen as a YP strategy if they use it as a mechanism to have candidates signal their interest by taking an extra (and somewhat taxing) step. Interviewing just plain ain't fun.

Re: Cornell c/o 18 Applicants
Just thought I'd elaborate a bit...I actually had a really hard time (or at least felt like I did) showing interest on my app....I didn't write a why Cornell or anything either. As for the yp thing, my numbers are above their 75s but barely, esp. with lsat. For this reason I probably didn't get a yp interview, but not because I showed a lot of interest. (Disclaimer: I could be totally wrong about this since I have no experience other than the last few months with this process
)

Status checker says I'm accepted with a full tuition scholarship as a "as a Charles Evans Hughes Scholar." I'm absolutely stunned. 172/3.82. Cornell was my top choice, wrote why cornell, interviewed the first day the first wave of interview invites went out on like live. Accepted today. Good luck everyone!
