I had the same issue actually. I literally just walked into a professor's office from my dept who I had never met and asked if he would be willing to write me a rec after having coffee and getting to know me better because my initial recommender didn't work out. Times were desperate. He wrote me a really good letter a couple weeks later. Still got waitlisted at gtownsmccgrey wrote:One of my LOR has flaked me too, and another (the one I thought would be the best) flat out denied me so now I'm just desperate, basically. I'm probably going to have to write it for him, honestly, because he wants to sit down and I will "help him."LawGirlAtx wrote: If your LOR writer isn't able to write you a letter in a more expedient fashion, is there anyone else that can? One of my LOR writers flaked on me completely (wasn't wholly shocking, he's a flake in general) so I had to scramble to find another former prof to write me one. If I had waited on my original prof, he would've gotten around to it sometime around when applications close. Or is there a chance that you can write it for the LOR writer? I know that's not ideal, but if they're not able to find time, it may be the best option.

Do you have someone else that you've worked closely with that may be able to write one? I have five LOR writers (two are for specific schools), two of those five are colleagues I've worked closely with that can testify to my work ethic and love of the law. Neither were my supervisor, but both are my superiors. I think profs or direct supervisors are ideal, but having a candid letter from someone who works closely with you may acceptable as well.smccgrey wrote:I've been out of school for ~3 years so randomly wandering around the department isn't going to help either.

Well, boo!smccgrey wrote:Nope, there's definitely no one else who would be an appropriate choice (it's a relatively small company - my boss is the CEO and there's no one else really above me).LawGirlAtx wrote:Do you have someone else that you've worked closely with that may be able to write one? In the admissions letter they said it would be up and running later this fall, but it's not up and running yet. No need to worry about it though, just enjoy the fact that you've been admitted and take a deep breath.Nothing but the Funk wrote:Is anyone else having a hard time gaining access to the admitted students website.

Did anyone attach a GPA/LSAT Addendum and if so where did you attach it?

A letter postmarked on 11/4 came in the mail yesterday, and I'm in. Third acceptance in a 24 hour period. Couldn't be more stoked right now.

I never got a completion email. I submitted 9/29 and got an acknowledgement that it had been received 9/30. I received my September LSAT score on 10/20 and several of the schools I applied to sent completion emails on 10/21, so if I had to take a guess, that's when.taptaptop wrote:Congrats! Also happy to share stats by PM. My LSN profile can be found under the same name as well.

When are rejection and waitlist emails usually sent out? Been 3 weeks since I applied and 2 since I went complete. U bet I'm checking my email every hour and I'm stalking my mailman
Just to clarify: I mean time of day.

Got the acceptance letter in the mail today. I applied in September and went complete soon after. I had a Skype alumni interview on Nov 2 and the letter was postmarked the 5th.

Sorry to hear that you were waitlistsd. You sound like a strong candidate especially being accepted to Michigan so no idea why that happened. Just out of curiousity, when did u hear back about being waitlistsd in relation to the complete date?spencer.414 wrote:I had the same issue actually. There is LITERALLY no one else who can LOR me. FML.. I wrote a LOCI and I'm planning to visit the campus and try to finagle my way into an interview. But I'm in at Michigan and GW so I have other options even though they weren't my first choices.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
