Just went under review today. Is there any chance that a decision will be rendered by the end of today or should I expect the process to extend into next week?

Generally once you go UR it doesn't take more than 1-2 days but I'm not sure how it'll work with the weekend.ender235 wrote:Just went under review today. Is there any chance that a decision will be rendered by the end of today or should I expect the process to extend into next week?

Went under review on 3/24 and have yet to receive a final decision. For some people it may be shorter, but I don't think you would get it on the same day. I'd try my best just to enjoy the weekend even though this wait has been brutal.potterdam wrote:Generally once you go UR it doesn't take more than 1-2 days but I'm not sure how it'll work with the weekend.ender235 wrote:Just went under review today. Got the acceptance via email today. Honestly couldn't be happier, time to wait for scholarship info. So who am I gonna be seeing in the Fall?

So when was the last time anyone received their scholarship offer? Judging by LSN, there are still a lot of offers yet to go out. I'm curious if they're planning to release a whole lot of them at once, or if they are just slowly trickling out.

Re: Boston College C/O 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
This isn't much of an update, but I recently wrote back to a prof. that had reached out to me telling her how I was from Boston and BC was my top choice and how excited I was to go to the ASD on April 3rd. In the email I mentioned, in passing, that scholarship info was the only thing I was waiting on before making my final decision. She was very prompt in sending a friendly reply, but didn't mention anything about financial aid or scholarships. However, the day after she responded to me, I received an unsolicited email from the financial aid office thanking me for sharing my strong interest in BC, saying they were looking forward to meeting me at the ASD, and letting me know that the scholarship offer process was still underway and was ongoing throughout the spring. When I scrolled down, I noticed that this email from financial aid was sent as a reply to the email I sent to the professor. So it's pretty clear that the prof. got in touch with fin. aid on my behalf after I expressed my concern.esrom55 wrote:So when was the last time anyone received their scholarship offer? Anyway, it probably doesn't mean much, but I will say this: There is movement going on behind the scenes. I think they are aware that people are antsy about scholarship offers and they are only part-way through their offer cycle. I'm not sure if it's because they are a bit behind this year or if their scholarship offers normally simply come out a little bit later, but I'd suggest sitting tight and being as patient as possible (trust me, I know it's tough to remain patient with deadlines looming!).
Hope this helps alleviate peoples stress in some small way!

I know the "earlier the better" line, but any thoughts on applying today? I know BC stops accepting applications tonight, but does anyone think its actually "too late" ??????

Congrats! I hope I am there in the fall. I am still waiting for a decision, its my top choice among schools I have yet to hear from and I have visited twice and loved it so hopefully that helps. Looks like they are letting in people with similar numbers to mine and not many 163's have been locked out completely. You are on my follow list at LSN (same lsat you have a higher GPA), which I check like every day to see how my odds change as the cycle goes by.glackinjp wrote:Got the acceptance via email today. The answer to this is entirely dependent on your numbers. If you're above medians, no, it is probably not too late. Otherwise, unless you're an extreme splitter, than it is probably "too late".k101010 wrote:I know the "earlier the better" line, but any thoughts on applying today? I e-mailed a few weeks ago and got an e-mail 2 days later giving me scholarship info. Seems to be par for the course reading through this board.underwood15 wrote:How will you be negotiating? has anyone had luck negotiating so far? This is probably the second time my application has had a date change. It is still at "complete". Is this a bad sign that I still haven't gone "under review" yet?

Not a single tiny movement from its first complete on 1/30.NoDayButToday wrote:I heard pretty early, but I'm not sure that mine ever went "under review."taylorswiftfan wrote:This is probably the second time my application has had a date change. I called the admissions office. They said from your complete date you should expect to wait 8-10 weeks for the decision. Very nice admissions officer.

So is anyone actually paying full price?
I got a $22,000 per year scholarship and that's still a foolish amount of debt to take on for a job that isn't guaranteed.
Basically if you are planning on going 120k+ into debt at BC (or I guess any other school?) What are your reasons?
