Re: USC c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I realize that a few people have already brought this up, but has anyone been stuck on committee 2nd read forever? Can anyone who recently experienced this and got a decision or went through this in past provide any input? I'm starting to wonder, as others have stated on the thread, if this translates into being waitlisted.

Re: USC c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I hope not man. Ive been on 2nd review since around the 18th of January after going complete on the 14th. I had one date change on the 29th. I have a 3.2 and 168 LSAT. I know USC is supposedly a GPA whore, but I don't know how they could say no to an LSAT above their 75th. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

It might just take them a while. I got in this cycle with a 3.33.whjohnso444 wrote:I hope not man. Ive been on 2nd review since around the 18th of January after going complete on the 14th. They rejected someone with a 169 3.3 on LSN. That's a suprise.

Yea... I think the waiting game is just getting to us. I re-read my comment and realized I'm just over thinking. I really don't think USC is GPA whore (although I wish since my LSAT is lacking). Good luck!dcruss wrote:It might just take them a while. I got in this cycle with a 3.33.whjohnso444 wrote:I hope not man. That was a total cheap shot. I actually thought there was a chance it was something other than a rejection. The ad comms really can suck it. The funny thing is that it's even cheaper for the school to send the standard thin envelope...what a waste.

Don't give up hope! I got in with a <25th GPA and >75th LSAT. I do have a reason for my GPA though and above average softs. I think you'll be fine as long as your GPA is the only weakness in your app and you have a good reason for it.Attax wrote:Also 168. Been waiting since November 30th.whjohnso444 wrote:I hope not man. Ya but this guy got into UCLA so its all good lolzzz. One or the other would be ideal. I feel like it seems desperate to write a LOCI before a first decision, anyone have any thoughts on this?zman wrote:They rejected someone with a 169 3.3 on LSN. That's a suprise.

I was rejected today with a 177... but also a 2.5 GPA. I have good softs too, 4 years of legal W/E. So there is a level below which they will not go, but 3.2 should be a whole different ballgame.str8yolked wrote:Don't give up hope! I got in with a <25th GPA and >75th LSAT. That is way desperate, unless it's a standard Why essay and you didn't include one initially.whjohnso444 wrote:Ya but this guy got into UCLA so its all good lolzzz. One or the other would be ideal. Re: USC c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I didn't include a why USC essay in my initial app, but I included a diversity statement about my mixed background. USC is my top choice by far and so far I have gone on a campus visit and sat in on a class and emailed the dean thanking her. Been on 2nd review for about a week, would it be to send a LOCI/Why USC at this juncture? Median/75th LSAT and below 25 GPA ( bad first year, but upward trend )

I'm gonna go ahead and join this thread.
I got accepted about two weeks ago. 3.7/166 and URM. I'm soooo nervous about scholarships though. USC is incredibly pricey.

This feels like exactly the same bullshit line we've been getting in all their admissions paraphernalia. I just want to know what I'm working with here! I want to get into negotiations!akkirk wrote:I called them last week about $$, and they said they were currently in the process of determining scholarships and well let admitted students know soon.

Jesus people. Some schools were negotiating/finalizing into June and July last year according to various TLS threads. Chill. It's a marathon.

Jesus Christ, mirroroferised, you're the worst offender of them all. It'll come out when it comes out.
I've literally seen you ask/complain about scholarships for the past three pages on this thread.
