Interesting. I'm also in DC, and was only offered a group interview.
Are your stats borderline GULC?
75% GPA, 25% LSAT, ED applicant

I'm in New York and was only offered a group interview (this Friday).
GPA = 75%; LSAT > 75%, not ED and no "why GT"

Just accepted!! No interview offered, no optional essay (though I did include a diversity statement), went complete 10/21.
Congratulations and good luck to everyone else!

Congrats on the acceptance! If you are ok with sharing, what was the date on your letter?

It's 11/11/13, so a week ago, and it definitely just arrived today. I guess their mailroom is slow?

Anyone else in a similar boat?
I also had my third and fourth updates on 11/14 and 11/18, respectively.
Hope this is good news!

IN! Also with an 11/11/13 letter date, which is an eternity considering I live three miles away from GULC. One of my top choices, so I'm really thrilled.

Group interview request.
40 minutes after I get off work...45 minute subway ride away from work.
How can I make this happen?
Dilemma.

Would that not be a valid reason to leave work early?

I think so, but I would have to think of some other reason to tell them because this whole law school thing is on the DL.

Better yet, say some family member such as a parent or grandparent is coming in to town.

In! Three status updates then an interview, followed by three more updates and a letter in the mail. Very nice handwritten note by the dean on the letter mentioning my alumni interviewer by name.

I don't think there's any system to it. They do both everywhere they can just to maximize the total number of people they are able to interview. They just see what's available when they decide to interview you.

I also just got in (via letter dated 11/11)!
In DC, didn't do an extra essay or get asked to do an interview.

Also just got my letter of admission, dated 11/11. No interview, three status updates (last update is date of letter). 168/3.6, current UG, no extra essay, submitted 10/23, complete 10/29 for those of you keeping track!

Congrats everyone!
Had my group interview tonight. Was pretty standard, Dean Cornblatt is great, creative thing they do. Not really about GULC but rather way more general.

Good luck! I may be doing the same thing soon if I don't get into Michigan ED.
