I received a mailing a while back from YLS asking me to apply because I was recognized as a distinguished diverse student (I'm Lebanese). Obviously it doesn't hurt to try, but what do you think the chances are? Lebanese doesn't count as a URM from what I've been told, but do you all think this letter may point to the contrary?

I'm a 166/3.97 so the only way I think I'd get in is as a URM (unless I hold out and retake in June)

Yeah. I'll submit an app, I'm just curious as to the URM distinction because that's the only realistic way I would be admitted with my subpar LSAT score.

1 in 3 is a winner. Just pick the cup that the Yale acceptance letter is under. It's that easy.

ETA: Srsly though... if you think the ONLY reason that Yale might accept you with a 166 is because you're a URM, you need a confidence booster. Maybe take Karate lessons or something.

From what I've heard it takes some remarkable softs to get in with a <25 percentile LSAT.

actually the issue still allowed me to honestly answer "no" to the CF questions, but it's just not flattering. I'm not worried about the possibility that she might ask her husband to find something that would contradict the CF answers I provided. I'm more worried that they'll find something that's negative in its own right but doesn't show that I omitted on my app.

I know it's not a Yale C&F issue, or else I would be telling you to report it to some schools, but if it's a C&F issue at some schools, people are going to call it a C&F issue, as depending on where you practice law, there is a good chance you will need to report it to the BAR as a C&F issue. It would be pretty ridiculous for Asha to bug her husband about every damn applicant she wants more information about. Constantly asking a spouse for help would be really weird, and in the context in which she mentions her FBI connections she always seems to be half-joking anyway. I could go on about why this is a ridiculously specific thing to be worried about, but I haven't slept in almost 23 hours now, so I'm going to stop typing for a moment.

Also her husband would be violating FBI policy if he used federal resources to help his wife run her admissions process. That would be an ironic way to catch C&F issues.
