has anyone been bumped with a 165? from what i saw so far, it's the 166+ crowd getting bumped up.

I got a 165 and went from nothing to $45k/ year

Count me in. I recently de-activated my facebook but I'd re-activate it for this. I have a cat and I need to find cat-sympathetic roommates who would like to live in Palo Verde with me. This is, of course, assuming I'll be attending UCI law (I'm 90 percent sure).

I'm planning on SIRing soon...basically just waiting to hear back from USC

that makes sense. yeah i'm waiting for UCLA and USC, the only two schools that will make me consider not going to UCI.

I love that UCI does't require a deposit, too.

How exactly do they determine acceptances of the waitlist then? Or Is there not a realistic shot at getting off at this point?

In light of the big offers going out to those with T-20 numbers, and the fact that they keep making unsolicited increases on those offers despite not having responded to half of applicants tells me that apps are way down for UCI and they are really trying to lock those numbers in.

Incorrect. For the Mouth of Chem, as of a month or two ago ago (right when all the articles came out about 'lowest applications since whenever') we were one of only four schools in the country to have more applicants than last year (and we hadn't even hit peek application time yet).

A few questions on that. Did he specify as to whether applications are up significantly, or just more than last year? Also, the other piece of the application decline story is that the sharpest decline has been in people with LSAT scores north of the 90th percentile, which is what UCI is looking for.

Maybe they are getting more applications overall, but are they the ones UCI is looking for? They are being awfully generous to this first batch of admits, and if LSN is at all representative of overall apps (which it may very well not be), it doesn't look like they are being overwhelmed.

At this point, probably. My only other scholly offer is from LLS and I really am not too impressed with them.

yeah really. I'd say I have some strong softs though...
I worked graveyard shifts during college and had an internship at the DAs office this year. Maybe they like my work ethic?

I can't recall if he gave an exact number of how much we are up, but the simple fact that we are up is of note. As to the quality of applications, I also cannot speak to that. He did indicate that the yield at that point was putting us on track to best the states of last year's class.

Don't get your hopes all the way up, but that's got to be encouraging. If you can conclude anything, it's that it's not a bad thing

Speaking of which, who's going to the ASW? I was going to skip, but the scholly upgrade and the travel stipend is tempting me to show up on Saturday (can't make the fun stuff on Friday because of work, sadly).
