Re: Loyola LA 2012 applicants!
Now that the first deposit due date is coming up, how about we get a notice of who is planning on attending and who is planning on withdrawing? Also, how long are you waitlist'ers planning to wait?
I'm on the WL, and I'm going to be waiting up until August if necessary.

Re: Loyola LA 2012 applicants!
I applied in October and I still haven't received a decision, it's beyond ridiculous. If it weren't for the money I spent on the LSAC report, I would have withdrawn by now.

Re: Loyola LA 2012 applicants!
I am in the same boat still sitting on complete. I did however apply later(end of Jan). Unrelated, does anyone know if Loyola likes to take their undergrads? I went to LMU as a transfer undergrad and their admissions took a more reasonable amount of time getting back. I know that undergrad and law school are different and we that are talking about two different offices but still. I am hoping this week or next will be the time I hear from Loyola and 3 others for an initial decision. I did call the Loyola office and they claimed that all or most of their decisions (Don't know about wait list) would come by the end of the month. So here is to hoping for me and all others who await.

GPA and LSAT are the only factors that matter. Nobody cares that you went to LMU. It is a marginal school at best.Airallie wrote:I am in the same boat still sitting on complete. I don't think Airaille was trying to imply that LMU is "zomg preftige". She/he was asking if there may be a small boost given to LMU students because the schools are affiliated.
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question Airaille! Just keep in mind that most UG applications are not done on a rolling basis so that may be why you got an answer in a shorter time frame for UG.

Re: Loyola LA 2012 applicants!
I don't believe that where you got your undergrad degree makes much of a difference beyond GPA. Getting a 4.0 GPA at once place isn't the same as getting a 4.0 GPA at another place, so your undergrad school does make a difference in the perception of GPA, but beyond that I don't think it's worth paying attention to.Pleasye wrote:Danteshek wrote:GPA and LSAT are the only factors that matter. I think the law schools that obviously give a boost to their undergraduate students are the ones that allow their students to bypass the LSAT.

Re: Loyola LA 2012 applicants!
LOL still "complete" since Oct. what a joke. Will be withdrawing this week because apparently they can't even be courteous to give me a decision in a reasonable time frame. Lame.

I'm sorry I said that. LMU is a good school. I know several LLS students who also attended LMU. One of them was not only a graduate of LMU but also had been employed at LMU for several years and had grown up around the school. She started at Southwestern and then transferred into the evening program. I know this is just anecdotal, but it suggests to me that the admissions process does not leave the school with much discretion to admit members of favored constituencies.

Decision rendered April 30. All signs lead to a 'ding' or WL since others have posted they received an acceptance e-mail so late in the admissions process...
Anyone else go complete yesterday?

that's just cruel. If I was in the admissions office for Loyola, which I'm not (or am I?), I'd give you a sympathy admit on that metric alone. you're welcome.mkat27 wrote:Psch, since OCTOBER, right here.Benson wrote:anyone still, like myself, impatiently sitting at complete (2/2)?

I'm a little late to respond, but my DR was also on April 30. I live in Orange County so I'm thinking the decision might arrive today...jaded2526 wrote:Decision rendered April 30. Re: Loyola LA 2012 applicants!
Did you send in a LOCI? I would do that and add as much info as possible to make your app stand out... another LOR, promotion at work, new job, new volunteer experience, new grades (assuming you are coming straight from UG), etc.porkchop625 wrote:I'm in at Santa Clara with $10k a year, waitlisted at Loyola LA and USD; I really want to stay in SoCal. What is the real likelihood of getting in off the waitlist for either school (162, 2.75 splitter from a UC)?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
