I also applied ED and am waiting to hear back. Glad to hear that there are others in the same boat, I've been keeping my fingers crossed all week, I'm at 12/5 also.

I brought my phone into the bathroom with me while I showered yesterday just in case. Ended up ringing and in an attempt to look at who was calling I almost fell and ended my life.

Well, after rereading the application email it states:

Applicants who complete all of these requirements by December 1, 2011 will receive notification of a decision by December 20, 2011. Early Decision applicants who are not offered admission will either be denied or a decision will be deferred until later in the application cycle.

Considering it says "by December 20," it's still safe to assume we'll get decisions before that.

Also, the second part seems to answer a question I had a few pages ago. Looks like we're in for flat out rejections or even more waiting.

I got my package today! I received info on financial aid. $25,000/year. 3.79/167. !!!

It does seem odd. The package I got seemed to indicate that info would come later.

Merit scholarships come in the initial admissions packet, so unfortunately, if you didn't get a letter, you didn't get money. However, BU was very flexible when it came to negotiation for my friends and I and a number of us leveraged 15-60k out of them, even though we didn't receive scholarship offers early on. Just be prepared to play the game.

I would actually like to hear some clarification from the author of the post. They may have changed it this year, but in the past offers always came with packets. I think it is worth making sure that he was referring to the actual packet and not a phone call or email.

-edit- I see that was a post from last year, so maybe they are just inconsistent?

Thank you! I got an email saying that it is their practice to call admitted students but because i am currently overseas, they were unable to reach me.

168 / 3.6 (retook in December but asked them to review with my current score)
Very Strong LORs (professors were eager to write one for me and told me what/how they would write)
International student, but went to UG in the states.

I'm a long time lurker (registered recently) but thought to post my stats in hopes that it'd be of any help to others.

I spoke with someone at BU early in the cycle that told me that this year merit aid was a mystery to everyone because they had to wait and see how the early decision program would play out and then see how much $ was left. Since they had no clear numbers on how many people they would let in ED.
