Major congratulations to you. I'm really surprised that some of the 11/22 UR batch is hearing already. Let's hope we all hear soon. Berkeley's easily in my top 2.curiouscat wrote:just got my call!!! trying to remind myself to breathe. so thrilled!!!!

I think it really has to do with your stats. The latest 11/22 acceptance has a 4.0 and a 173 ( according to their profile) and we all know how Berkeley loves those high GPA's...throw in a 173 LSAT and they must have jumped on that decision fastAqualung wrote:Major congratulations to you. Sorry if this has been covered, for an international student, the notification will only come via snail mail, no email no calls?

Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Thanks! Still not 100% sure I didn't hallucinate that. Floored.
I was pretty surprised to hear so quickly soon too. I had resigned myself for a long, nail-biting wait with this one, but it looks like they're already looking at some of that 11/22 batch. My PS was not Berkeley-specific but had a definite public interest lean to it, so that might have helped.
And, rachelwang, I'm not in the US, and I got a phone call. Not sure about China, though.
Best of luck to everyone else who's waiting! Crossing my fingers for all you. Hope to see you all in California this spring!

Are the review dates based on having similar stats? Or is it just a product of when you got your applications in? Seems like a lot of strong applicants in the 11/22 batch.
oh and congrats on the acceptance!!!

How did they cal you if you are abroad? I was just wondering because I'm in the UK and hadn't expected to hear anything over the phone.

I guess it depends whether your cell service provider (if that is so termed, forgive my poor translation, this is Chinese-to-English word-to-word) allows you to receive calls from other parts of the world?

I'm with you. I went under review 10/19 as well. Boalt is easily in my top three... I had a GPA above the 75th percentile, an LSAT above the median, a tailored personal statement, and a tailored recommendation letter. That being said, it's Berkeley, so obviously it's not easy for anyone to get in. I definitely wasn't counting on it, but I was hoping for it for sure! I'm not giving up hope completely, and neither should you! Good luck and keep your spirits uprickfox wrote:UR 10/19. Dead in the water at this point? I'm starting to get nervous about this one (11/22 update for me). My GPA is, for Berkeley, an atrocious atrocity. Maybe a decent LSAT and a public-spirited PS will do the trick?

I went UR 10/19 or something and didn’t hear anything until yesterday. Don’t worry, people. There is still a LOT of time left in the cycle and even if they skip you now they could come back to you later.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
