ED gives you a shot.

My stats were like 3.89 and 163 and I got in for ED. I'm a 2L now.

Yep, ED. The rumors are true.... fair scholarship consideration! So crazy.

EDIT: does anyone know if I now have a required minimum GPA for the rest of undergrad?

No official minimum as far as I'm aware. Just avoid those D's

I think there was an official minimum but it was passing. I posted it earlier in the thread, its in the letter you get. I think it says 2.3 or something.

Mum, I think you're referring to the scholarship stipulation.

Yeah, I misread his question, assumed it was scholarship related.

Also forgot to say Congrats!

ED application sent. Not holding out much hope (169/3.6).

Tempting because of the fee waiver I just received, but I was planning on doing an ED to Penn even though it's a longshot (3.3/170) given its proximity to home.

Ugh, don't know what to do.

That all depends on who you ask. UVA certainly has more pull in the South, but they place lawyers in good firms in every market especially NYC and DC. You might look into what firms are showing up for UVA's OCI to see what regions are interested enough in the school to send a recruiter. I am a Minnesota resident and having talked to numerous attorneys at firms in the Twin Cities they have told me that coming back to Minnesota won't be a problem with a degree from UVA Law.

Glad to hear about the scholly runplaystudy. Makes me feel a little better about my decision to ED. I'll be happy if they give me five bucks.

Congratulations! I hope other candidates like you notice this and realize that the blanket statements bandied around this forum about UVA's scholarship considerations for ED applicants are not always true. The admissions department at UVA really does seem to value genuine interest in their school.
