Hey noob question here: what exactly am I waiting on after the application is received before it is complete? If everything is electronic, why is there a delay?

Both people who got interviews so far submitted in September. I hope I'm still in the running for this batch. :x

Someone please tell me what these interviews mean. How many people are interviewed, and what percentage of those interviewed are accepted? Is it true that people interviewed this early in the cycle are auto-admits? THANK YOU!!!
