Every time I get an email for BLS's accepted students day, I get my hopes up that it's scholarship info
For the record, I didn't call so +1 with not knowing why the info is no longer up.

I honestly get more e-mails from Brooklyn than all the other schools I've been accepted to combined.Woods, Elle wrote:Every time I get an email for BLS's accepted students day, I get my hopes up that it's scholarship info![]()

I'm surprised you two have been "ready for review" so long... I applied 3/1, got an incomplete email 3/7 (accidentally left high school info blank), and went from "ready for review" to "in review" by 3/8. Anyway, I hope we all hear decisions soon... this whole waiting period is so difficult.

At the risk of sounding like a NY snobby elitist, how the hell does someone become "over" New York??????????? I mean I could see myself being "over" North Dakota but....

No you don't sound snobby. I understand. Im on the west coast and for me moving over there with a small child isn't that attractive anymore after I got my other offers. Pre-baby I was all into the New York thing. But now idk so much. I will wait to see what they say but if I don't get in Im not worried. I might be different, I didnt apply to any schools in Cali bc I refuse to live there, visiting is fine. And nothing in the mid states ie north dakota, oklahoma, arkansas etc.rocon7383 wrote:dey206 wrote:I was told that "they are making sure your file is complete and ready, then it will go into review soon."

Is it just me or is anyone else getting constant reminders from BLS about applying to their fellowship programs??? I get so anxious every time I see the sender's name...

+1. Just living near NY for any extended period of time could make someone easily be over NY. And then once you travel overseas or even to other parts of the country, it becomes pretty glaring how basic it really is after awhile. I still appreciate visiting in small doses but I don't think it offers (for me) anything I couldn't get some place else. *kanye shrug*dey206 wrote: And once you travel/live overseas its really easy to be over NY lol.

I don't really *hate* NYC, I was just never blown away by it or regarded it as anything other than an extension of the shitty urban areas of NJ I grew up in already.rman1201 wrote:I don't like all this NYC Hate.

The shake shack is fabulous though. I'd wait in line for that shit over any bar or club the city has to offer.

I guess thats why. Coming from the South, NY is the most amazing thing to ever be built anywhere ever in the history of anything. But then again I feel in awe every time I go to any major city.simonmulletxcore wrote:I don't really *hate* NYC, I was just never blown away by it or regarded it as anything other than an extension of the shitty urban areas of NJ I grew up in already.rman1201 wrote:I don't like all this NYC Hate.

Ok well Congrats! I just have 8 out of 10 apps still floating some submitted mid jan to mid feb, I'm just ready for responses. Either in or out! My #'s are a lock for BLS, but all this waiting has me annoyed.subtle wrote:Yes.blacklawboss wrote:ugh that suxx. Did you get in?subtle wrote:I was in review from 12/15 until 3/2. Just sayin'.

I feel you. That's how I felt about my schools too. They really started rolling in though. I applied to fourteen and am now only waiting on 3. But those three are moving slower than molasses. I'm really not sure what they're doing. For two of them, I should have been an auto-reject, and for the third, I should be an admit. It now looks, however, that I'm headed for a WL there. *sigh*blacklawboss wrote:Ok well Congrats! Re: Brooklyn Law School 2011 Cycle
In all honesty I envy people who can regard the city that way. Growing up, it was just that place we went if we were going to the airport or field trip at school. So it kind of feels like home. Which means, it kind of feels like a place I want to escape sometimes even though the majority of my friends from college adore it.rman1201 wrote:I guess thats why. I haven't ventured to the West Coast yet (sadly) but the city that has made me feel closest to that way has been Orlando. Yeah...judging myself right now.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
