American is generally pretty quick. My acceptance only took 3 weeks, although this probably not true for everyone. Be optimistic as I"m sure you'll hear back soon!

Re: American University 2011 Applicants
i think american is known to have a fast turnaround for a lot of people, but for others it's just as unpredictable. Basically it's entirely unpredictable unless you have solid stats to get in I guess.

Should I be worried, though?
I went complete like 1/17 and haven't heard anything.

I went complete on 1/14. No movement since then. 3.33/167, non-URM.

Hey guys I got in and I would love to go but it is just way too expensive. Do you guys know if there is anything we can do to get scholarship money? I was offered none from American but I plan on applying for need based grants. Even if I get the grants I hear that they are very small compared to the cost of tuition and living

I don't think so. I was complete 10/25 and I only heard back like 3 weeks ago and I was accepted. Waiting sucks, but a lot of schools are just slow.lsatextreme wrote:something must have gone wrong with your app or somethinglvsmithmarsh wrote:Complete since 11/10. Crickets since then.

Re: American University 2011 Applicants
I just saw on the accepted students page (my.wcl or whatever), that they posted regional events you can go to. Anyone thinking of going to those? I'm going to the ASW April 1, but I'm thinking of going to the SF March 1 event. Anyone else?

Re: American University 2011 Applicants
Are you really only meant to attend these events if you are think you're going to go to the school? Many of the admitted students events are already full but I've only heard from 2 schools, so have no idea yet if I'll end up at American but would like to explore it--I think I'd be happy there.

Re: American University 2011 Applicants
I think I might go. I'm extremely interested in seeing the alumni that show up so I can evaluate the Bay Area alumni network, and it looks like it's being advertised as an alumni event as well.ilovesf wrote:I just saw on the accepted students page (my.wcl or whatever), that they posted regional events you can go to.
