I don't see why you wouldn't be in - we have similar numbers (I'm a 165/3.35) and I got in with $$. I guess they are just slow?clarebear726 wrote:WHYYY IS THIS TAKING SOOO LONG??? i thought my numbers were pretty good (164/3.4/good softs) but now im beginning to freak out. tulanes one of my top choices but im just annoyed on principle they are not going to tell me before the deposit deadline @ other schools

The only thing Tulane is quick on (in my experience as an undergrad) is accounts receivable.
They said they were supposed to have most acceptances in by April 1, but it would shock me if tons didn't go out long after that.

Did anyone else go to the ASW this past weekend? What did you think?
Personally, this weekend made it pull WAY out in front of my other options.

Yeah, I actually really liked Tulane more than I thought I would. I really liked the laid back environment and the friendliness of the community. Before going to the ASW I was 100% towards UC Hastings, now I'm just going to have to think about it a little bit more. I took some pictures of the campus if anyone wants to see them, and also if you have questions about what happened, etc, let me know!buchy2009 wrote:Did anyone else go to the ASW this past weekend? Re: Tulane 2011
so if i applied in nov, but retook the lsat in dec and wanted them to consider that score (which was better), does that mean i applied late in the cycle? i mean i was complete at like 12/15 or something, but then they obviously looked at everything over again when my new score came in..

I didn't even APPLY until February, but the fact that they a lot of you applied before December and still haven't heard anything I guess lessens the pain of waiting a bit.

Re: Tulane 2011
Under normal circumstances I would believe that we were all destined for ding/WL, but with Tulane I'm not so sure. Since I am so close by and keep in relative good contact with the admissions staff, I think it's just a matter of there haven't been a lot of acceptances (any?) for a few months now. I would bet (and you guys can feel free to correct me if I am wrong) that the majority of those of you who were accepted submitted in November or before. There's no way they are at capacity, and my guess is they were using this first ASW to gauge interest of the acceptances they do have. Judging by LSN there are a lot of acceptances that are in the 168+/3.6 ballpark, and my guess is is that many of those people will have better (as a native New Orleanian, this is a relative term) offers.
Now, if I don't hear anything by this week I'm going to start to get a bit worried, and the fact that there isn't a wait list in existence yet might also be a bit scary, but they SAID they wanted acceptances in before April 1, so I am just gonna roll with it until then.
But, I also think it's kind of crappy for them to string a lot of people who need to go to the ASW to make a decision, I was using the ASW as a vacation to hit Frenchman and get drunk for a night, but for those of you that need convincing that Tulane and NOLA are the place to be, Tulane is depriving you of such an opportunity which I am totally uncool with.

yeaa it REALLY annoys me that they aren't letting us know by their last ASW...i mean i guess i can visit but a lot of what im going to decide on is what the other students seem like and the whole feel of that weekend. it just seems super shady for lack of a better term to fuck over a large majority of the ppl who have lower numbers and the likely people whose #1 choice is actually tulane (like me)

Re: Tulane 2011
Wow, rejected with a 3.4/172. Tulane was one of my top 3 schools and I was pretty excited to go visit, guess they made my final choice a bit easier. No doubt I will carry a grudge to the grave and channel Rick Vaughn (Charlie Sheen) from Major League when he thinks he's been cut, every time I run into a vestige of Tulane.
But good luck to everyone else this cycle, I'm going to go sulk.
Rick Vaughn: I got news for you Mr. Brown, you haven't heard the last of me. You may think I'm shit now, but someday you're gonna be sorry you cut me. I'm gonna catch on somewhere else and every time that I pitch against you I'm gonna stick it up you're fuckin' ass!

Are you kidding me? You were rejected with a 172? FFS, what hope do the rest of us have?Longhorn88 wrote:Wow, rejected with a 3.4/172. This must have been a case of they never expected you to go to Tulane because your numbers are so high.
Did you write a good why Tulane?

Re: Tulane 2011
Isn't it the case that if you're accepted, it lists "Acceptance mailed" under mailings on the status checker, and if it's a WL/ding it lists "decision mailed?" I think I read that on this thread. Can anybody verify/debunk this?

Wow, that's really surprising... I would've thought that you'd be in with a big scholarship.Longhorn88 wrote:Wow, rejected with a 3.4/172. I guess I should start anticipating my rejection letter too!

That's definitely yield protection. They probably figured you'd have better offers.Longhorn88 wrote:Wow, rejected with a 3.4/172.
