Hey, just following up on my earlier post. I submitted my matching request two days ago and got a phone call from Dean Ingram today--they upped their offer to full tuition! I am very very pleased. Booking plane tickets to go visit Austin now! I am envisioning myself debt free by age thirty, law school degree in hand...

Really? I got a couple of emails encouraging me to apply for match. I have my scholarship info when admitted, but no need awards yet even though I filed FAFSA in Feb.

I filed FAFSA at the beginning of this month, I think. I got subsidized loans but I don't think they have need based aid beyond that, I'm not sure I'd qualify for it if they had it, though.

R6, you still seriously considering Texas?

I am seriously considering everywhere except Duke and Michigan but that's because they haven't shown any interest to re-consider aid. I truly believe (naive or not) that I will be fine wherever I go, so I am trying to make the best decision for all my other factors - debt, wife, kids, parents, etc...

R6, you should totally go to Texas. After my visit i'm like 90% sure I'm going there so I want to recruit as many from the other T-14 as possible. This school is moving up these rankings.

I just got a call that I got in. Pretty shocked. (Honestly almost forgot about this school because I applied early and was deferred to regular pool). No mention of any money. Does that mean it will be sticker?

DO IT! After, visiting UT I can say it is truly awesome and I definitely agree with the above posts!

Just got my financial aid email. All loans. Not good.

LSAT and GPA floors at 168/3.6. If you're under either, you're not getting money. I'm not sure that they necessarily always mention money in the admit call though.

To restate what I said in the ASD thread, UT is just like Hogwarts. Both:
1. Have 4 sections/houses
2. Have a library with a restricted floor/section
3. Are lead by a powerful old wizard

This. Let's march this school into the T10 people! I also think UT did a very smart think cutting class sizes a bit. They went from 420 ->380ish.

R6--maybe look at your award on the website and add up the loans. The COA - Loans may = your scholarship.
