We're just not interesting enough. Well, you are, since you got a JR1. Well, it seems like I have moxie on paper, but I guess my lack of it turned him off in our phone conversation.

It all seems pretty logical to me; people in the hold pile and the late submissions got JR1s and JR2s. Then he goes back to the hold pile and gives JR2s to the people in the hold stack that he has already had a JR1 with. Then he moves on to the held people without a JR1 to fill the remaining seats.

Would it be acceptable to abbreviate Harvard Law School to HLS in LOCI? I am running out of space

i'd imagine saying the full name the first time and then HLS for each subsequent mention is perfectly safe

I would think so, they call themselves HLS on their websites sometimes

if i were you i might hold off on the LOCI for a bit, since you just recently heard from them (and, no less, it was a good thing to hear). i'd say give them a chance to admit you and if they don't in the next several weeks, write one up. i think LOCIs are better suited for a) if you haven't heard anything at all for a long time or b) if you've just recently gotten negative but non-rejection news (hold/waitlist). just my $.02 thoughMTC87 wrote:speaking of which, anyone down for swapping LOCIs? i'd love some feedback.

It's good to see some life in this thread for us waiting out the holds... I thought everyone was scared away when JR called us out on that blog post

Couldn't get a response in the regular HLS thread... Do we put Harvard on Need Access and FAFSA if we're held and applying now to other places? Do we wait? Appreciate a response... thanks

i went ahead and did when i was filling them out for another school. it's convenient, and i figure it can't hurt. and i recall this line from one of the two that said something to the effect of, "don't send your tax returns to harvard until after you've been accepted." that seems to imply it's ok to go ahead and fill out the fin aid forms online first.NightHooded wrote:Couldn't get a response in the regular HLS thread... I don't think JR was calling out this thread in particular . . . it's really not that bad, only 23 pages in 3 months . . . almost certainly referring to USS: BPcahesu wrote:It's good to see some life in this thread for us waiting out the holds... On a side note, did anyone have trouble finding a post card to send with the LOCI?
I went to 5 stores that didn't sell them and ended up buying a cheap-looking one from the post office!

If you overnight it you get a signature confirmation. So I knew exactly when and who signed for it. In addition to that, my LOR showed up on my status checker today, so I know they have it.Hattori Hanzo wrote:On a side note, did anyone have trouble finding a post card to send with the LOCI?I went to 5 stores that didn't sell them and ended up buying a cheap-looking one from the post office!
I was worried about sending the right post card.... You should have ordered a Yale post card and sent it in, instant rejection.
