Monterreys is good but Cosmic quesadillas are literally the best mexican food on the planet.jbrowning82 wrote:Yeah I mean youre not taking a date to Montys but still, no where else can you get THAT drunk for THAT cheap in THAT fun of an environment. It's also a fringe family restaurant. I'll never forget the time that this little like 6 year old came bouncing up to our table (probably my freshman year, you can give them your student ID when they ask for a your drivers license to prove your 21 because they dont give a shit) and my friend is half in the bag, like three 32ozers deep and slurs:
"Iii'm fucked up, little girl." And she runs off, he calls after her "you wanna go to a partyy?!"
hahaha
Yeah Bandido's sucks unless you want to try el gigante, which defeated me in my one attempt.
I hate that there's even a Chipotle around there. Cosmic Cantina is all you need for a GREAT late night burrito.

Re: University of North Carolina 2013
sorry, this is totally off topic from where the board is at right now but....
is anyone going to the March 19 admitted students day?
Anyone know all the info? Is it worth going if I have to fly? What is it like (schedule, etc.)? What hotel to stay at? Any other important info?

I have not been accepted yet, so I cannot attend on 3/19. But if you're seriously considering the school it's probably worth it. Maybe they can give you travel money if you ask.

Re: University of North Carolina 2013
If I get an acceptance letter, I'll be there...however, I don't have one yet. If memory serves, the ASD schedule in the past has not been all that different from an Open House. Sessions on academics and financial aid with student panels and building tours. Whether to go if you have to fly really depends on you. Do you need help choosing a school? How expensive is it to fly from where you are? What will you miss out on by coming? As far as hotels go, the only place I have ever stayed is the Residence Inn on Erwin Road. It's only like two or three years old and very nice but I believe the average price is around $169 a night (but this information is at least a year old). I wish I could offer more help but I'm currently at UNC for my undergrad so I don't have to worry about these kinds of things.Center2450 wrote:sorry, this is totally off topic from where the board is at right now but....

Someone got in today on LSN, but looks like it may have been a unique circumstance.

They said they got in via phone call from Dean States, so hopefully it was a unique circumstance...either way, I'm keeping my phone close to me today.BlueHeel wrote:Someone got in today on LSN, but looks like it may have been a unique circumstance.

not as bad as last year's applicants getting fake admit emails! just wait patiently -- it will come when it comes. UNC's always later than the rest of the pack. nothing unusual this year.

Today, my wife and I discovered a specialty store in Florida (where we live) that sells Sun Drop, Cheerwine, and Peach Nehi. If UNC sends out some acceptances and I am lucky enough to be in that group, this will be a perfect day.

Every time this thread gets updated my hand reaches to my phone to check for missed calls from 919 area-code. And now I'm contributing to everyone else's anxiety by putting this back on the front page. What a vicious cycle.

I always say I wouldn't date someone for their money, but I guess since Cheerwine isn't money (it's better than money) I can make an exception.I actually knew the girl whos like dad or grandpa invented cheerwine. She was a year below me at UNC.
Anyway, is anyone else thinking that possibly some letters/e-mails are going out in the mail today with some decisions and that this guy was just the one lucky enough to get the phone call? Pretty much all of the past acceptances through e-mail seemed to all come in the evening, as far as I can tell. I'm just trying to justify my hopefulness.
