It's a coping mechanism and has nothing to do with objective reality. Once I learned there was a JS2 wave my mind flooded with negative thoughts because I was afraid to be let down. I just called and they said all decisions will be made by April 1. So even if you're not in this wave, you'll find out one way or another. Though I'm guessing the odds are higher that we'd be rejected or WL the closer to April 1 we get...
