All, I slept on it over night and realized something. That extra three days of this week really does make all the difference in evaluating applications they have had for 6 months. We are all being very unreasonable expecting quicker answers.

Lack of sleep has my brain frazzled so my apologies for asking, but this is sarcastic, right?

Everyone who calls NYU gets something different. They were expediting decisions but now some people will have to wait on snail mail as notification? That's rich.

Do you know if previous rejections this cycle were sent via email? Snail mail sounds like too much work for a bunch of rejections lol.

Yeah but they've been taking a lot of heat this cycle so maybe by mailing the letters it shows they put in more effort on our behalf even though they didn't

+1. Spoke to a friend rejected last cycle can confirm it was via email and came within 24 hours of DLS.

Here! My concern with being an ED splitter is that they've kept me on only to waitlist me because they know I'm likely to stay on the waitlist for as long as it takes.

So no one heard what DLS means? It's been almost 24 hours.

I literally sent them a letter telling them not to mail me anything, since I am not in the states. If they are mailing me a rejection letter, I swear I will start hating them. It takes weeks for the letter to arrive, and I will have to be left with some hope only to be ding-ed at the end of the roller coaster ride.

Yeah, I live in a developing country 12 times zones away with a not-quite-ideal postal system. On top of that, the building where I get my mail has been closed for most of the month because this is "summer break" over here. If they've been trying to contact me by snail mail, the odds are stacked against success.
