They haven't even given me the chance to write a LOCI. I'm headed straight to the "suck it, applicant" pile.

The optimism in this thread died a long time ago, my friend.

i am not being optimistic or pessimistic, i just went through the data and know the odds for most held applicants are bad, especially borderlines like me.Core wrote:![]()

I want to know if they will just hold our apps and do nothing with it in a silent WL? We will actually get a notice of some sort this month right?

You won't pay sticker at Chi but sticker at CLS would make your decade? To each their own, I guess.Core wrote:That would make my year. Better yet, my decade lol.
Any word on Holds at Columbia? I haven't been following it.. but is this gonna be a Harvard/Stanford-esque lengthy process? Or are they gonna just put us all on reserve..

I anticipate CLS offering me a decent need-based grant (based TLS + LSN data). I also want to work in NYC and CLS's LRAP is much better than Chicago's.JollyGreenGiant wrote:You won't pay sticker at Chi but sticker at CLS would make your decade? I'd pay sticker at Chicago... although I get to live at home if I get in, so I'd save a good deal of cash. NYC cost of living scares me. Of course my hold will probably be a WL or rejection anyways.Core wrote:I anticipate CLS offering me a decent need-based grant (based TLS + LSN data). I have been complete for some time. Haven't received a decision, haven't been held. Should I send a LOCI?

Dinged today. Complete 2/05. Subsequently Held.
I was pretty confident heading into this cycle with my 178 LSAT, but CLS, my first choice, yelled at me and threw a Black's Law Dictionary at my face.

You obviously have a great LSAT so I'm sure you have some great options otherwise. But, this is the first hold --> rejection I've seen for CLS. Any others?nycdweller wrote:Dinged today. Complete 2/05. Subsequently Held.

ETA: Did you get the e-mail encouraging you to submit a LOCI that was sent last week?

how are things going on the financial aid front, people? i submitted my stuff right around the deadline, so i imagine i will be on the late end of offers. do they come by mail or email? i am getting antsy because i live abroad and it will take a couple of weeks for my deposit to get there once i find out where i am going. let me know if this stuff is being discussed elsewhere.

Re: Columbia 2010
I think we briefly talked about it in the "in at columbia" thread in this same subforum, but I got my offer e-mailed to me on April 1st, and I got a real letter a day or two ago. I think I got the e-mail because I e-mailed Columbia and told them about my NYU offer and its deadline.Polka wrote:how are things going on the financial aid front, people? i submitted my stuff right around the deadline, so i imagine i will be on the late end of offers. do they come by mail or email? i am getting antsy because i live abroad and it will take a couple of weeks for my deposit to get there once i find out where i am going. let me know if this stuff is being discussed elsewhere.
also, I sent in some of my forms on time and others a few days late.
finally, you know you can pay your columbia deposit online, right? they have an option on the admitted students site where you can put in a credit card # and pay the deposit that way. I dunno if other schools have a similar option.

Re: Columbia 2010
i had no idea! thanks!! i feel retarded for not checking that. the other school i am considering (chicago) requires that their deposit be mailed by their april 30 deadline, so i guess i can cool my heels for a while.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
