I'm headed for a visit the first week of March. My thumb is on the scale with Penn, because it's the highest-ranked school for me so far. But damn if I wouldn't pick Mich over Penn, all things being equal. Is it because Michigan is pretty? Yes. Is that wrong? Yes. Am I changing my mind? No. Do I have a shot at Michigan? Apparently not (although I am literally surrounded by green on LSN). Does this tirade have to make sense? Of course not! Is this actually just another chance to post pictures? Bet your ass!

What am I going to do about it? THIS:

If I hadn't ED'd, written a Why Mich and said several times that it was a top choice then I'd be thoughtdicking me too. Michigan is just pushing me into NYU's arms.

If I hadn't ED'd, written a Why Mich and said several times that it was a top choice then I'd be thoughtdicking me too. Michigan is just pushing me into NYU's arms.

Replace NYU with Penn and that's me (well, without the EDing, did it at Chicago). I wrote 2 essays and a tailored PS. What more do they want? :<

So I was accepted by Status Checker today. And they said they would mail me the packet. Packet got here same day. Advantages of living in Ann Arbor hehe

Maybe you can confirm this then. Does the status checker definitively only update once a day? I think the assumption is that it does, but do we have proof of this? Any chance you checked this morning and you were still complete?

No.

Okay, so I've never really understood the T14 / T13 thing. The T14 line exists because none of the 14 schools have even been ranked outside the 14 spot. Texas may be tied for 14, but it is not a T14, because it has been ranked lower. Looking through, the only other such line is #1: it's never been a school other than Yale. All the other "lines" have had schools move in and out.

That said, I thought about this like it was a logic game, and now I feel queazy. Great.
