Ah I forgot, I have one of those too. I just checked it. Kind of a wishy-washy response:chneyo wrote:No Ouija at the office, but I asked my Magic 8-Ball if we would see any JS2's this week and it said, "Signs Point to Yes."lawschool22 wrote:Shameless post 1700 for luck.
Good luck everyone!! Chneyo, what does your Ouija board say for HLS today?
Take it for what it's worth.

Ooo nice. Did you make those? If so, could you overlay the two? Just use four different colors. It'd be easier to see where we are compared to last year.chneyo wrote:lawschool22 wrote:Ah I forgot, I have one of those too. I just checked it. lol'd irl. Haha.
ETA:
Numbers are from LSN. Red line represents where we comparatively are right now. J4 would be from the 22nd to the end of the month.
ETA: Would you mind PM'ing me that data (if you have it already in Excel or something)? lawschool22@gmail.com

Interesting, it looks like we are ahead for acceptances. There have been more this year already then there was at this time last year even though there havn't been any since Dec.chneyo wrote:
Again, numbers from LSN (and there may be a typo or something in the data entry, but whatevs). Just a comparison. Seems like we're a little more delayed than last year, but not much.
I'll send you the excel in a bit.

From what I saw in last year's thread, if there are calls today, they'll start around 3pm and last until 6pm. Let's hope!

+1chneyo wrote: The numbers I have show 64 acceptances last year on LSN up to Jan 21st, and only 53 thus far for c/o 2017. Negligible differences when considering the potential for reporting variances.

So fairly similar total numbers, however definitely fewer but larger "waves" this year. That probably accounts for the perception (myself included) that they are moving slower this year.chneyo wrote:

Its snowing on the east coast, like A LOT. Don't know how it is up in Cambridge. Hoping it doesn't mess with decisions. Mother nature is really putting a dent on things.

No snow here yet. We've already been told that it's highly unlikely the coming snow will affect anything.paglababa wrote:Its snowing on the east coast, like A LOT. Don't know how it is up in Cambridge. Hoping it doesn't mess with decisions. Mother nature is really putting a dent on things.

Plus Massachusetts is pretty used to snow I'd imagine.TripTrip wrote:No snow here yet. Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
What is the common logic for someone who has been complete since mid September with no JS1 and avoided the wave of rejections last week? I've clearly been passed over for an interview (at least) once, which is not surprising since I am slightly below both medians and am non-URM.
My main questions are:
1. Do I have any chance at a JS1?
2. If I were to get a JS1 offer, would it most likely be in March or after I'm on the WL?
Thanks in advance for any insight. I apologize if this has been discussed anywhere else in this thread. Congrats to all that have been accepted already and good luck to the rest of you!

I forget, is there typically an update to your complete date after you have your JS1?

I mean as long as you haven't been rejected you're still in the running. My guess is last year you would have likely been "held" so perhaps perusing that thread from last year may offer some guidance as far as when those folks got JS1's.t14splitter wrote:What is the common logic for someone who has been complete since mid September with no JS1 and avoided the wave of rejections last week? They aren't officially issuing a "held" status this year, so it will just be a bunch of waiting until you're either waitlisted, rejected, or get a JS1. They're sending out JS1's on several days almost every week, so that could come at any time. I'm not sure about whether you'll be waitlisted or not. What does myLSN say?
