Do you think they realize that it is the end of this month?

So, my application was received 1/29/10 but not complete until 3/20/10. On the status checker, there's a message that says "If your application was complete by Feb. 1, you can expect a decision within 12 weeks" !!!

Does this really mean that, since my app wasn't complete by 2/1, I may not receive any decision until later than June 5th??

That 8-12 weeks is before Feb. 1st. June 5th seems awfully late doesn't it? Almost all schools are able to render a decision before May 1st on regular applications - at the very latest. I couldn't imagine Cornell will be much different.

OK, so Cornell is my number 1 choice and i was placed on "reserve" last week, should I make a big effort to get off the list into the incoming class or is my effort futile? Does anyone know how many people they usually take from this faux-waitlist

DR 3/25, as of today (I checked this morning and it had still been at complete 2/4, might have switched at midnight eastern time). No link to the admitted students site or whatever others had reported, so I'm not particularly optimistic. Will call on Monday, I think.

Anyone know whether snail mail went to current or permanent addresses?

DR today (dated 3/24). I went complete on 2/16 and do not have any links nor did I receive an email. Should be a ding.

Oh well, it was to be expected.

Update: got the mail (current address) and was put on reserve. Was the consensus that the reserve list is a wait list by another name, or something else? Will most definitely be staying on this one.

the reserve list is different from the waitlist. those on reserve can expect to be rejected, accepted, or waitlisted around the end of june. people are accepted off the waitlist on a one-by-one basis (one person withdrawing, one person taken off the waitlist).

I'm so glad people are withdrawing, Cornell seems to be a T-14 that many like to go to but don't because of its location. Come on Cornell, accept me, I'll go!
