12/23 was a harvard holiday but they still came to work and sent out JS2's

no reason to think MLK day is any different, esp. with adcoms who are under the gun all the way until springtime

True. I work tomorrow, as it is a "busy season" for me as well. So I could see the same logic applying to admissions offices. Although I could also see them respecting the holiday. So while they may be working tomorrow, calls might wait until Tuesday. Of course we won't know 'til they start calling.

Filling that out is the worst.

arguably no better way to respect / celebrate the holiday than to let the good news flow lol

i thought i read somewhere in this thread that last year's January movement was earlier in the month ? something like Friday/Monday but on the 10th or 14th ?

from barrel of monkeys earlier in the thread:

lol <3

So I checked last year's thread (I'm sure this had been done already, but, well):

There was a big batch of held/rejection e-mails on Friday, January 11th.

Then there was a big batch of JS2s on Monday, January 14th. These JS2s included even really recent JS1s (like January 10th).

Yeah, this is why we have been saying they are slightly behind last year's pace. I think we will see some tomorrow, but that's just a wild guess based on previous patterns. I would be surprised if calls went out today, but if they do it would be a pleasant surprise.

I was going to mention how this resembles triptrip from last year
Was triptrip like a weird anomaly last cycle? ...triptrip is making me nervous
Yeah, I was. Basically I should have written an addendum to explain the way my transcripts were laid out but didn't. I had a 4.0, but there were three different undergraduate schools on my transcript, two of which don't even offer baccalaureate degrees. It was something that I had to explain in every interview.

What's even eerier is that my score is a retake, much like yours  I have analyzed your LSN a lot and it is the scariest thing I've seen in terms of law school admissions. I've already been put on PR at Duke so I'm already starting to resemble your cycle. If I can get into Harvard--even if it's off the waitlist--though, I'll be thrilled.

That's not so uncommon on this site. 167-174 for me. Awesome GPA/LSAT, you're a shoe in.

I predict no movement today.
But I also predict JS2s for everyone on TLS tomorrow.

Thanks! I certainly hope so. I meant that it was eerie because TripTrip's 175 last year was a retake from a 168, making our applications even more similar, not that it was an insanely large jump. Btw, killer avatar, paglababa.

I have similar numbers (even the retakes) and I transferred during UG as well.

Now stop it. You started to make me nervous and I don't want to hear it!!!!

but in the end triptrip got in (and presumably goes to harvard now)! which means we with similar numbers can get in too. triptrip is our mockingjay.

No, they understand transfers. I had community colleges in different states, no normal high school diploma, and a personal statement that accidentally made both of those things sound way worse than they were.

Really though, I still got in. Even if it doesn't happen early on, H almost has to interview the majority of the applicants who are over both medians, because there aren't very many left over after Y/S and CCN$$$ take their cut.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
