American U Financial aid: think Mr. Scourage before he was visited by the three ghosts.

I'm on the same boat. I went DR yesterday, and I live in the DC area. Haven't heard from the waitlist, so I'm assuming the decision is definitive. Eek, it'll most likely be a reject.

I clicked Full/Part just because i figured I could transfer full after a year. Also, did you read the part that said if you decided on AU they would contact you and you would have 24 hours to give them 900 dollars?

I was just wondring if this was standard operating procedures among school and waitlists, it souds kinda shady/ransom/james bondish to me.
LOL! Yeah I agree.. I was like 24 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is super intense. But I guess they really just wanna make sure you want them enough to make it worth their time. When did you get on the W/L?

1/27 did you select full, part, or both?

Does part time mean that you have to take night classes only?

after your first year, assuming you attend, you can transfer from PT to FT with the dean's approval and by taking mandatory classes for the summer before 2L (most likely to catch up with the curriculum). it's really not that difficult. I heard, from several students, that the PT program at WCL is certainly not an afterthought for students.

About the status checker page:

Should I be concerned that there is nothing new listed in the Mailings sidebar two days after my status changed to Decision Made?

I went online to my status to check for you and I didn't have anything new in my mailings column (except the Applications Received Email from 1/19) and I have already received my acceptance letter (Decision Made 1/29). So I'm guessing the "Mailings" column refers to emails only.

so i've been complete since 11/23, have obviously survived a couple waves of rejections and waitlists...i dont mean to be pushy but what the hell is taking them so long? i submitted before halloween with a median lsat and sub 25 gpa. the waiting is killing me because if i got accepted i would pay full price to go.

I think both of us are getting WL (YP). I'm 3.66/168, complete since 1/4 but considering how many people have heard since then, that is my guess.

Application Received 1/29, Complete 2/1, Decision Made 2/5. This was by far the quickest decision I have ever seen. Im assuming I won't be rejected so quickly, but that is insane

I applied 1/5 thinking I would be an auto-admit, now I'm wondering if I'm going to end up a YP...

+1 on the YP. I have been complete since early November as well. See this is when YP backfires. I would have considered American had they gotten back to me earlier. Now that I have been wooed by much higher ranked schools (who actually give scholarship money), I am thinking I will probably just withdraw before they can waitlist me.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
