fwiw... I got UM scholly email about 2-3 weeks after acceptance. They notified me via email that I was getting a scholly, but I didn't know how much till the letter came 5 days later.

Altho... the money they offered is contingent on keeping a 3.2 I believe (anyone know what percent of the class makes a 3.2?). all my other scholly offers are guaranteed or top 2/3.

I think either in this thread or in another thread, someone had posted that at 3.2 GPA at UMiami was top 50%

Bell curve is set at 2.75, so top 50% rumor is not true However, admissions told me today that only around 25% receive scholarship, which was less than I thought. Admissions is getting back to me what on what % I would be in with a 3.2GPA. Will post when I find out!

Called the admissions office today and found out that I was admitted on 1/28 but hadn't been notified yet. MyUM still doesn't show the acceptance letter.

How long after being admitted does the scholarship e-mail come? Hoping for the 2/3 scholly...

law duder: Don't worry about the letters. I met with the Dean and was told I had a full scholly a week before I ever got the email or letter.

Well that's certainly encouraging! I'd love to spend the next three years back in South Florida, but I can't justify Miami sticker when I've got UF as an option (which also hasn't mentioned $$ offers yet).

Another day and no mail... if you call the school, will they tell you if you're even being considered for merit aid? Also, has anyone heard about named scholarships yet? I think they mentioned they'd start informing finalists at the end of this week.

There was a student chat last week where the admission people said most of the scholarship money has already been distributed. So good luck. I'm rather disappointed I didn't get a single cent since I got accepted way back in November. Ah well, thats the way the cookie crumbles.
