Someone who has gotten their packet already, would you mind telling me when the first deposit is due?

I was accepted in early March, seat deposit due May 1st I believe..

Mine is April 1st, but I was accepted in November.

ok, was just curious on whether people had heard about getting any grant money...if that even exists at fsu. i didn't get merit $, but i filled out the need-based scholarship application. now that i'm pretty sure i know where i'm going, i'm starting to do some financial planning, which is...disturbing. hello serious debt

Don't say hi to that debt yet. Perhaps scholarship funds will be redistributed after they have a better idea of this year's class.

I really hope your right...I filled out the need based scholarship app, but still no info on merit...If FSU could just throw a little loot my way, I'll almost certainly be there in the fall.

it seems like most schools say that they still give $ after seat deposit deadlines, but i wonder how often it actually happens. i mean if i pay the deposit then they know i want to go there regardless of whether they offer me $. i guess it might different with fsu though since their deadline is so early, and there will probably be a number of people who withdraw between the 1st and 2nd deadlines

I know FSU offered me $12k for 1L and told me I could apply for scholarships in the following years. Not sure what this means for you and your chances at money but I was really disappointed with that offer. My numbers are in my profile.

That's the key. If you have a scholarship offer from a peer school, I'd use it to negotiate with FSU. After all, you have nothing to lose but you have something to gain.

I have very borderline numbers (2.85, 162). Planning on applying next cycle, but I was debating turning in an application today before the deadline. Would this even be worth it, considering my numbers might not even get me in applying early in the cycle? Would it hurt my chances of getting in next year?

Hey guys I had a quick question

On 2/4/2010 my status changed to Decision made, will arrive by mail.

It has now been 6 weeks since it went like that and I have yet to have received any mail from Florida State. Are there others here in the same boat as me or can anyone else point me in the right direction as to why I haven't received a decision yet?

As an international applicant it's probable your decision letter was lost. Call in the morning and find out your status.

this happened to my friend I work with. He went decision letter in the mail the first week in Feb, it never came and when he called the admissions office he was told it was a mistake and he was "Held"
