Not really, I guess. It's just that it would be nice to keep my winning streak going. As I mentioned in some other thread, I had a miserable experience in undergraduate admissions, so I relish each of these acceptances more than one might think.

I realize that this behavior is selfish though; sorry.

how was it a miserable experience if you were accepted to a top 5 undergrad (according to your lsn)? this is a serious question.

To divert attention from the hate-fest, are we looking for phone calls tomorrow? A change in the status checker? An email? A combination?

I would hate for it to be phone call only. I can't get phone calls. Someone want to ask the dean if i got in when he calls you?

I think it's phone call with an email that follows afterwards. Zai says the status checker never changed, so I wouldn't put much stock in that.

thats kind of annoying, why bother with the status checker at all.......on the other hand, im glad i won't have to be checking it compulsively.

So, overanalysis because I'm not tired whatsoever:

All of the first batch on LSN were admitted on 11-25-09 last year. I'm going to call the one 11-24-09 and the one 11-26-09 mistakes in reporting, because there's only one of each. So, potentially if the decisions came out on the 25th again it would be Wednesday. However, the 25th last year was a Tuesday, so it looks like tomorrow is more likely to be D-Day. However, if you don't get in on the 25th, you have a really good shot at getting in one or two weeks later, even if you applied before many of the people who were accepted the first day.

looking at LSN, I'm getting edgy because it looks like a LOT of people who submitted 10/1 and went complete 10/22 (which is when I did) got the call on tues/wed before thanksgiving. I can dream...

I'm really kicking myself about applying to schools so much later than I had originally planned. If I miss the submittal date cut-off for getting into Berkeley during the first wave (or, if I don't get into Berkeley) I'm going to kick myself even harder.

A serious and fair question. I applied to several top schools during my senior year in high school (although not the school that I currently attend), and all of them rejected me. Consequently, I had to scramble for contingency plans to fill the following year while I re-applied. It's true that I ended up in a wonderful university, but the route there was extremely convoluted and stressful.

I hope that this description explains why I am especially happy that my cycle is proceeding successfully so far.

Only because I really like the Bay Area and hope to practice in California eventually.

I was not saying "attend" but rather "consider attending"; in other words, I wouldn't toss out the possibility immediately.

Hell if I know. It's Berkeley. Judging from your stats, I'd say if Berkeley was sane and normal, you'd be in. Unfortunately, the school's admissions patterns more closely resemble a flock of seagulls copulating in a vat of peanut butter.

I do see a pattern, but it's not as overwhelming as some schools. If it makes my critics feel any better, I don't have a terribly strong chance of admission here anyway. I submitted only a generic, 2-page PS, and I don't particularly fit the Dean's ideal-student profile according to his TLS interview.
