The best fly fishing in Oregon is in Central and Eastern Oregon. If you have a car, the weekends will be awesome for you. It's a long, beautiful drive.

Re: University of Oregon Law
I am having a difficult time choosing between Seattle U and Oregon. The main factor preventing me from pulling the trigger on Oregon are the job prospects. Currently working in Seattle, where the economy quite simply has much more going on. The lacking economy in Oregon combined with Eugene’s non-urban location make me nervous.
That being said I think Eugene is great and feel the same regarding UO. Great atmosphere, facilities and a name/reputation every bit as good as Seattle U. Actually attending school down there is choice numero uno. However, I am worried about the options after 3 great years in Eugene! I have always heard rumblings about the difficult Portland legal market as well. Just looking for some feed back from any future students, current students or alumni concerning the ability to find a job in the Pacific Northwest.

+1 ...I'd like to hear some feedback, as well. SU seems to be in a better location, but the cost difference between SU and UO is fairly substantial.ahmarch wrote:I am having a difficult time choosing between Seattle U and Oregon. Re: University of Oregon Law
My prelaw advisor knows everybody on the adcomm at Lewis & Clark, and has said that the portland market is fiercely competative. I searched the largest law firms in both portland and seattle and it did seem to me that Oregon was a little under-represented there, but they still had plenty of representation. Lewis & Clark seems the best if you want to work in Portland (just based on those larger law firms).nickc8 wrote:+1 ...I'd like to hear some feedback, as well. Have you applied to Lewis & Clark? They denied me already (really fast) even though I have a 3.4 and a 160.

Re: University of Oregon Law
The wait is killing me - I applied way back on October 2nd.
Yeah, does anyone know the possibilities of working in Seattle after graduating from UO? And how does the bar exam work - can you
just take the Washington bar after graduating from UO?

Does anyone know what the curve is like at OR? 2.0 seems pretty low for LS, meaning that you probably just have to finish your classes to maintain scholly? Am I off base here?

Re: University of Oregon Law
Has anybody negotiated scholarships with UO? I got close to full ride at Willamette, though I would much rather go to UO. The difference in price over three years will be significant, but I'm still thinking UO would be more worth it.
Also, does anyone know about grants at UO? My FAFSA EFC is $73/year (I'm poor). I wonder if that will factor in at all.
