It's quite possible that I haven't heard anything because they're not done laughing at my application yet.

Is it just me, or does it look like the majority of people getting interviews are above the 75th on GPA? It seems like quite a review reverse splitters are getting tapped, but I haven't seen much in the way of high LSAT low GPA selections.

I mean, I don't think anyone has a super helpful answer for this. (If they do, they should let us know!)bloomsday wrote:So I know there's anecdotal evidence that timing of interview can be unrelated to timing of acceptance, but does anyone know if the same is true for timing of completion and timing of JS1? I was in the initial wave of completes, my numbers are there, but no interview. Time to give up hope?
I definitely do not think you should give up hope.
I'm in a similar boat as you and I am kind of bummed/second guessing myself/whatever and then I go to LSN and have a gander at my likelihood of acceptance and my cozy lil green oasis on the graph and see that I'd kind of have to be an exceptionally shitty person to not get in with my numbers. I don't think I'm special but I also haven't, like, murdered anyone........so, ultimately, even though I'm apparently in for a really long wait

Harvard is super numbers-based, so I will at least put my confidence in that, even as the rest of the process is a mystery...

I think this is the correct way to approach the situation. I'm in the boat with you guys, and, while it's tempting to think we're sinking because there's water inside, it is far from over.pretzeltime wrote:I mean, I don't think anyone has a super helpful answer for this. I think it'll probably work out in the end. And I'd say that's the same for the rest of people waiting with eligible/strong numberz

It is also the first week of December. In a cycle in which applications close in February.
The time, it is long.
The time to give up hope is probably May.

I'm KJD and still without a JS1, though my GPA and LSAT are both at or above the 75ths. We're fine I'm sure. It's a long process.

My stats definitely will prevent me from getting into Harvard (3.68, 169). But I'm taking the June test.
Would it be weird/a bad idea if I preemptively sent a letter of continued interest telling them I'm sitting for the June LSAT?

Just to echo fall17 for those to whom it might provide comfort, I'm also a KJD above both medians (close to one 75th) that applied in October. Silence for me.fall17law wrote:I'm KJD and still without a JS1, though my GPA and LSAT are both at or above the 75ths. We're fine I'm sure. It's a long process.

If you applied to Harvard... maybe don't assume they reject you until you do. Self confidence honey!!

I'm sure decisions will start trickling out before christmas, and I would be surprised if they released decisions anytime between Dec 25 and Jan 2 for obvious reasons.potterotter wrote:Predictions for the first wave of JS2s?

How many JS waves are there in total? Seems like the TLS jargon is tripping you up: A JS1 is an interview invite, and a JS2 is an acceptance. Check the first post in this thread for information about when those waves were reported during the last few cycles.Christinabruin wrote:How many JS waves are there in total? Yeah and we call it JS because the dean's name is Jessica Soban. The jargon didn't make any sense to me for the longest while.Kaziende wrote:Seems like the TLS jargon is tripping you up: A JS1 is an interview invite, and a JS2 is an acceptance.
