As far as South Bend housing goes, there is:

1. FOG (Fischer / O'Hara-Grace), which is on campus and for graduate students only. FOG lacks a dishwasher, no in-unit laundry, must share a bathroom, can be furnished, and no covered parking. $630/mo., all-inclusive.
2. Overlook at ND, which is off campus (but adjacent) and for graduate students/faculty only. Relatively new, SS appliances, in-unit laundry, private bathroom (or shared if you want a roommate), can be furnished, and no covered parking. $900-$1500/mo., all inclusive.
3. Foundry, which is off campus (but adjacent) and for all people 21+. Relatively new, SS appliances, in-unit laundry, private bathroom, unfurnished, and covered parking. $1300+/mo., utilities not included.
4. Lots of apartments nearby
5. Lots of rental houses nearby

I looked hard and chose #2.
Hey thanks a lot! Is your Overlook lease year round/do they allow subletting in the summer? Same question for on campus/Foundry if you happen to know? My own research leads me to believe the answer is you are on the hook for summer in off-campus housing, and for the nicer buildings there is no subletting but I'm not totally sure.
My lease is a one-year lease that extends through the summer, even though I plan on working outside of South Bend during 1L summer. I'm unsure about subletting, as it wasn't really a factor in my decision. Some off-campus housing options do allow for 9-month leases, but it's becoming increasingly rare, especially at this stage in the cycle. Maybe make a few quick calls tomorrow - good luck.
Thanks! Really appreciate it!
Beware that summer sublets are definitely a buyer's market in South Bend due to the large amount of student housing coupled with the fact that hardly anyone stays/comes for the summer. I saw sublets as cheap as $100 for two months.

Pretty bummed...decision made yesterday, no seat deposits or e-mail. 50% GPA; LSAT >> 75%. And I wrote Why NDLS. And I'm from south suburban Chicago.

Admitted in December and don't have scholly stuff yet, but I think I saw that some people got scholly with recent acceptances.

Got the acceptance email Feb. 11, my physical letter is dated Feb. 13, but I received the physical packet (with acceptance and scholly info) yesterday (Feb. 16).

PSA:

My status checker changed to "decision made" in the AM on 2-15-2017. The status checker displayed the note that Notre Dame only releases decisions by mail, not e-mail or telephone. It did not show a link for paying fees, and I did not receive any e-mails.

After reading through this thread, I assumed it was a ding and I've been pretty salty about it for the past two days. Then, about 10 minutes ago, I got an e-mail saying I've been accepted.

TLS makes me depressed 90% of the time, but I still peruse for the 10% that makes me happy. Don't let the 90% get to you like I did.

Oh wow this is really interesting. I'm having a similar deal, decision made on Valentine's Day but it didn't update till the 15th, have gotten no news yet.

I've been kinda in shock for 3 days since this is somewhat of a safety for me.

Same! I was surprised when I thought it was a ding; I did the supplemental essays and my numbers are competitive. But given my experience..don't lose hope yet.

Seconding this, I posted the other day saying I was dinged since no seat deposits. Just got the acceptance email this afternoon and still no seat deposits or anything else on the status checker! Never looking at status checkers again, especially when using them to confirm denials by lack of seat deposits. From now on I wait for my acceptances/denials thru the mail/email and phone only lol

I feel like the admitted students portal is just a page that all students can see. Kinda different than other schools that give you your own user name and page lol.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
