Dear pandapops,
Now that it's mid-June, as promised I wanted to send you another quick e-mail update on the waitlist situation at Georgetown. Our class is still currently oversubscribed, but these things do sometimes have a way of changing quickly. We're monitoring the class on a daily basis and we're still hopeful that we will be able to contact you with good news in the near future.
You are in a select group that we plan to turn to first if space becomes available, so we hope you will be able to hang on a little bit longer. For our part, we promise to keep you up to date on what's going on. I'm going to need the weekend to figure out next steps but will get back to you next Tuesday at the latest with an update.
If spaces do become available, the Committee will move quickly and, if admitted, the Committee will require you to withdraw your name from any other enrollment list to secure a seat at Georgetown. They have asked me to ask you to let us know if you wish to remain in consideration and where Georgetown fits in with your plans at this point. Please respond to this email as soon as possible at admis@law.georgetown.edu.
As always, we thank you for your patience with this process.
Best,
Andy

For sure! I wish it would have been an acceptance, though lol. If I'm not in by July 1 I'm withdrawing. Best of luck to us (and anyone else who received this)!pandapops wrote:Very relieved to finally get an update. I was getting worried hahaLaw2511 wrote:Same!pandapops wrote:Anyone else get this?

Are people responding to the emails with additional letters of continued interest, or just an email indicating they're still interested in Georgetown?

Exact wording - except it's the next tuition date - July 25th. I guess that means I'm actually in a "Select group we plan to turn to (third)" lol

For those of you who have received scholarships, who have you communicated with in the admissions department? Directly with Dean Cornblatt, or someone else? And how did those discussions go usually?

Just curious, how long after you were accepted did you e-mail? had you already deposited? and did you have previous offers to give them for comparison? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to share publically - thanks!darkchildnana wrote:I did the same thing and heard two days laterapp1516 wrote:I simply emailed the admitted student email and asked for a scholarship. I was accepted on friday and emailed the following monday. I had not deposited yet. I gave them a high WashU offer to compare to and they gave me about 1/3 of that.gjs13 wrote:Just curious, how long after you were accepted did you e-mail? had you already deposited? and did you have previous offers to give them for comparison? Quick Q: People on the Regular Waitlist that have not yet received a phone call, did you get a mid-June update email? If so, what did it say?
