Re: Notre Dame c/o 2019 Applicants
Just received an email about scholarship bump- from 75,000 to 84,000! Not a huge jump, but i'm happy to have gotten an increase! He said a hard letter will follow. Hope everyone else gets a bump in the next couple of days too

Had practically decided on SHU over the past couple of days as my 2 better options were Fordham which has always been bleh to me and BU which gave me 0 with acceptance for whatever reason... I threw ND app out pretty late for the main purpose of using it to negotiate with BU and to my surprise offered me 120k which needless to say threw out pretty much everything I had been thinking lol so looking like a pretty decent option

Also got my scholarship increased! This makes my decision even more difficult but I'm hoping ASW will help seal the deal

Has anyone received any information about financial aid that is not merit based scholarship?
I submitted FAFSA in early January and have not heard anything from the Financial Aid Office - not even an acknowledgement that they received my FAFSA.

No need-based. The FAFSA just makes you eligible for the loanspoptart123 wrote:Curious as well.PhysicistLawyer wrote:Has anyone received any information about financial aid that is not merit based scholarship?

Checking in. Also got the 120k offer. Sent in the appeal form and emailed about why I didn't think that was adequate. Kind of slapped 'em with some T14 acceptances and comparable scholarships at schools that aren't in the middle of nowhere. We'll see how they respond. I visited (not at an ASW) and love that school, so probably will end up attending, unless my Chicago interview went super well, and I'm accepted there.

The complete date keeps moving up on my app. My application was received on the 1st of March and I'm now on my 3rd complete status as of today. LSAT > 75 and GPA = Median... should I expect good news soon?

Did you write the optional essays? If yes, then yes, if no, then no.txaggie16 wrote:The complete date keeps moving up on my app. My application was received on the 1st of March and I'm now on my 3rd complete status as of today. LSAT > 75 and GPA = Median... should I expect good news soon?

Lol, since 3/1. Did you just make an account, skip all the way to the last page, and post?OconnorGirl wrote:Application complete since 3/1. No progress....any advice?
Advice is to realize there are people who have been waiting since early january who haven't received decisions and to get ready for a long wait because you applied so insanely late into the cycle

I did read thru the pages and saw some whose app went complete just a few days before mine (or around the same time) have received decisions. I am just curious about the process.sjp200 wrote:Lol, since 3/1. Did you just make an account, skip all the way to the last page, and post?OconnorGirl wrote:Application complete since 3/1. So where does Notre Dame place? And would you consider it a semi national school?

Thanks there. I guess I got impatient after seeing numerous comments about status change from complete to under review or dates change, etc. Mine did not move at all. Congrats to your admission.Smallville wrote:eh in all fairness I applied 2/18 got admission 3/17 so could totally come at any time lol but I do agree, little impatient there lol sometimes it takes what feels like forever. Thanks. Vandy takes a lot longer from what I have read. Of course each case is different but it appears to me that a 2.5-3 months wait is standard.Smallville wrote:Thanks, yeah like I said, ND turnaround for me was a month but for some other schools like Vandy im still waiting which was same time as ND app and for earlier apps some took 2 months or longer. Haha apparently not! Didn't write the essays and I was WL'd with several people with similar or worse stats who wrote the essays getting admit. Probably good news for you soon though!! Took me about two weeks after second date change for decision made. I had a 3rd date change shortly before decision made too but can't remember how many days before.txaggie16 wrote:Are optional essays REALLY optional?tuesdayninja wrote:Did you write the optional essays? Yep this is my third change too. I think I changed once on the 17th, again on the 21st, and then again just today. I think I should hear back next week, since I don't think anything will happen over the holiday weekendtuesdayninja wrote:Haha apparently not!
