I'm hoping my tailored personal statement (Berkeley is the only school i'm applying to this cycle) will save my very median stats lol. but then again I only mention the school's name at the end of the first page so I hope they read that far

It really does seem like Berkeley is one of the few schools that actually takes a (relatively) holistic approach to admissions. Dean Tom says PS/LoR make up about 1/3 the weight of the decision. Median numbers + a strong PS definitely gives you a strong shot, as far as I can tell.

And honestly I'd suggest throwing out a few other apps even if Berkeley is the only school you're interested in so that you can go for the matching scholarships.

Did anyone submit a fee waiver request through the honors/research fee waiver program application (for Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, etc)? If so, how long did it take to get a response?

Anyone received an acceptance recently? Doesn't look like there have been any acceptances in the spreadsheet for about a week now

Where are these spreadsheets everyone keeps talking about? I assume they're not talking about the lawschoolnumbers screenshot from last cycle on the first page...?

Thanks! I keep rereading my personal statement and finding things that I definitely wanted to change and where I personally feel like I messed up (no typos or anything like that), but it was getting late so I just submitted :( I hope they read past my first two pages and get to the good stuff.

You definitely don't have to worry about them not reading the whole statement. The point of them wanting 4 pages is so they can get to know the voice/perspective/character of each applicant as well as possible, so I really doubt they'd make such a quick judgment on the first 2 pages to not even follow through on that.

My advice is to stop rereading the statement now that you've sent it in. Though it's not like I'm able to follow my own advice here. I keep going back to the LSAC website and reading over the entire PDFs of all my transmitted applications. I hate the part where you have to give up complete control over the application process and just wait.

Has anyone who's been accepted (via phone) gotten the formal letter that was supposed to come out this week?

Accepted last night via email (international).

175, 3.6, UR sometime in October I think. I didn't submit any why Berkeley or expand my regular 2 page personal statement. Good luck to those still waiting!

Not sure if this has already been asked and answered, but a previous applicant told me they surprise you with an unannounced phone interview and then at the end of the 'interview,' you're admitted. True?

How long did it generally take for people to go UR after submitting their app. I submitted 11/21 and went UR today...
