I'm glad to see a fellow Bear getting some great news. I haven't encountered too many on the threads so that is assure. If only there was a Berkeley-LSAT-deflation theory for me haha.

Congratulations!
May I ask around what time you received your email?? And whether you wrote any supplementary essays?
Thanks and congrats!
I submitted my app on October 4th.

I got mine at 4:30AM Nov 17th here in Seoul. That should be about 2:30PM Nov 16th EST.
And no, I didn't write any supplementary essays--my personal statement already did pretty clearly state my diversity factor (former UN Peacekeeper/veteran of South Sudanese Civil War) and my why-Columbia element (how I just wanted to learn corporate law for the sake of investments).

Also curious about the ED acceptance rate. Or they just admit as many as qualified applicants, which means fewer seats for RD if a lot in via ED?

Just had my interview and totally messed it up. :( The wifi connection was so unstable that I have to switch to my Skype app on cellphone, of which the connection is lost twice... and near the end of the interview we have to type Skype messages (unbelievable.. I know) > <!

I will be admitted only if miracle happens.

So everyone, lesson learned - please check your connections in advance! Try initiating a video call with your friend, sometimes loading webpages won't reveal the problem.

Don't lose your faith, they will know it's not your fault. What questions were you asked?

The questions were typical interview Qs, such as why did you quit from the job, why Columbia why you, how did you initially get interested in law, how do you like NYC etc.

Advice please.
LSAT 168, GPA3.9

I signed up to retake the LSAT in December, should I apply now or immediately after taking the December test or after I get the test score back?

Also, should I write a Why Columbia essay?

Thanks in advance.
Here's the options:

Submit now/Immediately after retaking:

Wait to submit (assuming you can get to median LSAT of 171):

If I were you, I'd wait until after getting the score back. Applying later with a better LSAT > applying earlier

My concern is if I cannot increase my score in December should I apply now to put me at an advantage against others who plan to apply later? In case I get a higher score in December I can update my score, correct? With this strategy, I will be ahead of the people when they get the December score.
If you do choose to apply now before getting your December score, you will likely indicate in your application that you are planning to retake in which case Columbia could do one of two things:

1. Hold you app for your new score anyway at which case submitting early doesn't really put you ahead of the others waiting to submit with December scores.

2. Not wait for your new score (if you indicate that you don't want them to) and make a decision on your application sooner rather than later in which case you run the risk of being waitlisted (which is what the myLSN info suggests despite a small sample size). Like the previous graphs I posted suggest, getting to the median could make a huge difference in staying off the waitlist and getting to mid 170s would likely get you some serious $$ with your excellent GPA.

Personally, and take with as much salt as you like, I don't think the one month will make a huge difference in your chances and waiting can only help you in putting your best score forward. But again, just my advice. Best of luck!
