FWIW, I had no issues with the software, and I didn't find the formal to be all that weird. If you're self-confident in speaking, especially with a webcam (which I know is foreign to people), I'd reassume people that it's really not that bad at all. In fact, I think it was sort of fun - no one leaves alumni interviews feeling anything less than good, and schools no that, but I think there's a chance at differentiation with the online interview.
I didn't find it as awkward as others on this forum did either, but I guess I'm fine with public speaking and all the comments on here had me expecting the worst.

On the internet connect problem, someone probably knows more about this than I do, but I would think that a recorded video format like NU's portal would be better for a slow internet connection than a streamed video like Skype.

Just had an in-person interview. Interviewer was very kind and mostly just answered my own questions.

Very conversational - asked me: why law, describe my background, and where I'd like to practice law later on. Seemed very tailored to me - he went through my resume and asked me one thing I learned from each of my top jobs.

Then I just asked him a ton of questions about his career and he said stay in touch. Good experience overall.

Got to visit Northwestern last weekend (on my own, as it was a weekend)....Absolutely loved the architecture, and that spot on Lake Michigan  Amazing. Hoping we can hear back next week!

I met with an admission officer. She was extremely nice and it was very conversational. She asked me about my experience generally, why NU, what I want to do in law. very basic. very relaxed. I enjoyed it. don't know if that's true for all folks but it doesn't seem like the oncampus interview is designed to grill you

  • In 2012, Northwestern ED applicants heard back on Dec 18 (Tuesday).

In 2013, Northwestern ED applicants heard back on Dec 13 (Friday).

In 2014, Northwestern ED applicants heard back on Dec 18 (Thursday).
In conclusion, this is probably irrefutable evidence that we will receive our binding ED results by the end of the week (Dec 18 - Friday).

Boy, I sure hope so  It's like waiting for Christmas, only your parents either got you $150,000, or nothing.

Stay positive. Your parents are either giving you $150,000 and stealing your remaining unopened presents, or they are giving you nothing, but leaving other exciting mystery gifts for you to enjoy.
I'm not even an ED applicant but this ^^^ needs to be on the NW website ASAP lol best explanation for making the ED decision

There was a wave not too long after ED decisions during my cycle (two years ago). I got notified on the 19th (so 6 days after the 2013 ED date). I was not an auto-admit candidate by any stretch either.

They definitely do, or have in the past. Normally they give some heads up, from the look of last year's thread. But can't ya let a man dream?

Do they typically make calls for ED acceptances? Or do they only notify through the decision letter system?

I interviewed with a 2L. The questions were pretty standard, why law school, why NU, why law school now, intended career path, areas of law you're interested in, most meaningful experience on your resume, etc. He also talked a lot about himself and then there was time at the end to ask questions.

Good luck and enjoy Chicago!
