Got my scholarship offer. Not really a low-ball for my splitter numbers, but I hope to negotiate. Feel free to PM if you want details.

From the small sample on LSN, everyone that got offers so far (myself included), was well above the LSAT median and got 75k.

Re: Boston College C/O 2018 Applicants
Is Boston College completely delusional with these offers?
Looking on LSN, it appears they either have 0 interest in trying to lure top admits to matriculate, or they have lost their minds with these lowballs.
LOL at 75k being offered to folks with 165K offer from Virginia

I'm not sure what incentive they would have to YP at this point.. wouldn't it hurt their yield if they let us in only to low ball us and thus ensuring that we will probably not take their offer?Bird Lawyer wrote:I got my offer and got low-balled by a lot too. I bet it is a kind of YP, as I have shown no interest in them and only applied because they said I'd get a 10-day turn around.cuboxing25 wrote:Im wondering if they were kind of YP'ing?betty_bojangles wrote:Got my offer in this morning via email which landed in my spam folder. Super low-balled. Got similar money from Duke, more from GW and much more from BU. GPA ~75%, LSAT >75%.
Also, they say that the first deposit deadline is April 15 and that they do not make exceptions. Does anyone know if that is true or are they bluffing?

But they have limited scholarship funds to give out. If they lowball us, that means they have more $$ to give out to slightly lower numbers, that are still above medians, and maybe lure them more easily.betty_bojangles wrote:I'm not sure what incentive they would have to YP at this point.. wouldn't it hurt their yield if they let us in only to low ball us and thus ensuring that we will probably not take their offer?Bird Lawyer wrote:I got my offer and got low-balled by a lot too. This is all speculation of course, and we'll have to see how much they give to lower numbered applicants.

It's a little hard to follow BC's strategy. Why even admit a 168/3.9 if the plan all along was to only offer 75k? BC's admission office must be aware that a candidate like that will be getting big scholarship offers from virtually every T14 school. I don't get it.

That could certainly be possible.Bird Lawyer wrote: But they have limited scholarship funds to give out. If they lowball us, that means they have more $$ to give out to slightly lower numbers, that are still above medians, and maybe lure them more easily.

I'm a little over both medians and have yet to hear anything. Maybe they're releasing schollys in waves from small to large. 45k schollys last week, now the wave of 75k this week.

Got a 15k per year offer earlier today. So apparently there isn't a lot of method to the madness. B/w 50/75 on LSAT, >75 GPA, still waiting on scholarship info as well. Definitely starting to get antsy but it doesn't sound like the scholly's they've been giving have too awesome.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
