Can someone who's already received their merit-aid offer tell me who it came from? Was it also from Talin Broosan?

Hi Folks. Probably being a touch lazy here, since I could probably google this information, so I apologize in advanced. I was wondering about this sentence in the Scholarship email:
"This award will include any need-based law grant you may receive from the UCLA School of Law Office of Financial Aid."
Does this mean that the total merit aid - is the maximum grant aid received, irrespective of any need-based grants? So if you a 20k offer, and a 10k need based grant, you don't receive 30k, but 20k. However, looking at UCLA's 509, a number of students received grant/merit aid above the value of a free ride.
Apologies again.

What email is this? My merit aid email contains the following:iron tulip wrote:Hi Folks. Probably being a touch lazy here, since I could probably google this information, so I apologize in advanced. I was wondering about this sentence in the Scholarship email:

Which is pretty unambiguous. This award is in addition to the need-based law grant you have received from the UCLA School of Law Office of Financial Aid.

Mine also said "will include" so I am assuming there are two versions. I'm guessing that either we are ineligible for extra need aid after merit scholarships reach a certain amount or that they just like you better.hereisonehand wrote:What email is this? I suggest emailing and asking if you can have both the need-based award and the merit-based award. Ask politely. ^^giantswan wrote:Mine also said "will include" so I am assuming there are two versions.
