You're above the 75th gpa quartile and probably 25th to 49th in the LSAT. You're not the typical admit but I don't think it's that surprising you got accepted. A 168 would have probably been safer but you're in so you're good. Also congrats!

NU pretty commonly loves splitters (and needs reverse splitters to balance them out), and you've got a wicked high GPA! Don't question it! (: Congratulations!

My goodness this law school admissions game can f__k our minds. That GPA is really sweet, especially for NU and your LSAT is below median, but not so low that a soft-driven miracle explains your admission. You earned it. Congrats!

I am certain the first wave of RD has already been sent out.

Is it too early to start an admits page on the 2018 forum? I would start it, but I don't really post that much around these parts.

Accepted ED 12/18. URM, 168, 4.1.
Got an email from Columbia today that my application was withdrawn due to notification of my acceptance to NU ED. I never told them so I suppose NU is spreading the word.
Very happy I'm in ED but a bit dissapointed I'll never know my chances at other schools. Also had interview at Harvard so I'm wondering if I sold myself short... any thoughts?

Well that's the name of the game, but NU for that level of discount is more than worth it. Congrats and good luck!

If it's any consolation there is the thought of "maybe I could have gotten into Harvard" in my mind. I try to balance it with the thought "Maybe I would have gotten the same job and had an extra $2k per month debt payment for 10 years."

If you polled 0Ls on TLS the vast majority would take HYS over NU ED. If you polled graduates that went to the better school at far greater cost, many would regret turning down the scholarship. We have a great option in front of us with very little downside. Enjoy it.

In case any other EDs rolled over to RD are wondering, I called today to find out if I should ever see a change in the status checker after submitting the form to be considered for RD. Was told that the status checker will stay "Decision Letter Available within 24 hrs," with no update and we'll receive an e-mail when we get a decision for RD. So looks like there will be nothing to obsess over vis-a-vis status checker.

Schools really need to stop sending holiday e-mails to applicants they haven't already accepted.

Saw the subject line and hoped for about a second that it was a "Happy Holidays, you're in!" email.
