Does anyone know if we should assume that we aren't getting scholarship if we haven't heard at this point? I'm 3.4/167 and am really hoping for something this week.

New to TLS but I can jump in on this. I went to ASD on Saturday and they said offers would continue through the spring and into the summer...frank617 wrote:Does anyone know if we should assume that we aren't getting scholarship if we haven't heard at this point? That's really good to hear, but makes me nervous about potentially blowing $500.00 on a seat deposit that is due in 3 weeks....mollycass wrote:New to TLS but I can jump in on this. He absolutely did! Amen for wikipedia pages and the "notable alumni" section. At least that's how I found out (yes, I wikipedia-stalked BC while awaiting a decision).NoDayButToday wrote:Just made a discovery / falls under the category of "Things BC Law should play up more in their marketing":

So my status checker says "your application is being reviewed"
But fees for a first deposit and a second deposit just appeared under the fees box (pretty sure they weren't there before). Does this mean anything? Did it happen to anyone else?

I'm not under review yet (still at 2/21), and I also have the first and second deposit boxes. Not sure if it was always there, but who knowsjbalsamo wrote:So my status checker says "your application is being reviewed"

Does BC offer any travel stipends for Admitted Student Day? I really want to go but I live very far away.

Re: Boston College C/O 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
this is brutal. I am going crazy over my decision between BC and ND, and until I hear from BC with scholarship info it's just going to keep dragging on. I was accepted in December....

I was accepted at the end of January and then after a month a sent them an e-mail asking whether money would be coming my way (much more diplomatically, of course). About a day later, I got a scholarship e-mail with a nice chunk of money.

I'll be helping out at the April 3 ASD if any of you are going.

Re: Boston College C/O 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I actually emailed them yesterday, and got a weird response along the lines of "thank you, we have taken note of your interest in a scholarship," as if there was a chance I was not interested. But then it said the review process is still ongoing.ohhai wrote:I was accepted at the end of January and then after a month a sent them an e-mail asking whether money would be coming my way (much more diplomatically, of course). Hopefully the email strategy works for me like it did for you.

I emailed someone who reached out to me from BC ( i think a professor) about scholarship info and he got back to me saying he would contact the financial aid office and then the next day I got my scholarship package by email.
Also, did anyone go to admitted students event in NYC last night?

Re: Boston College C/O 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Could BC be waiting for people to ask for scholarships? Or are they just ridiculously busy? I was accepted in late Jan, have numbers over the 75ths and am less than an hour away from Boston. I would've thought I'd have an offer, but I'm starting to think asking would do the trick.

It sounds like those who get the "we have noted your interest in a scholarship" email after inquiring won't be getting anything if they are typically giving scholarship notifications the next day after a request for others. I got the interest email so really hoping that is not the case!

God, I hope that isn't the case. I haven't sent them an email yet, but have been debating it....mollycass wrote:It sounds like those who get the "we have noted your interest in a scholarship" email after inquiring won't be getting anything if they are typically giving scholarship notifications the next day after a request for others. It'd be awesome if there was a way to tell if this is true or not. If they aren't going to give me anything I'd gladly take my 25k at ND an deposit there todaymollycass wrote:It sounds like those who get the "we have noted your interest in a scholarship" email after inquiring won't be getting anything if they are typically giving scholarship notifications the next day after a request for others. Withdrew my application today. Hadn't heard about any scholarship money, so no dice for anyone waiting on that, but best of luck to anyone still waiting on admissions!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
