Missed a call from (310) today. D'oh. No voicemail - COULD BE A SCAM.

Google the number. I do that all the time when I get missed calls. Either the affiliated institution will pop up or a website where people report certain numbers as spam calls will show up. I get (310) spam calls about twice a week living in LA. Not fun since I haven't heard back from UCLA yet.

Good idea. I've done that a million times, but it didn't even occur to me. It's UCLA admissions.

ETA - Am I expected to call them back? I didn't, because others have had voicemails asking for a return call.

Call back! Just say you have a missed call but never received a voicemail. Worst that can happen is they say they called by accident or something.

Scheme:

>Call admissions office
>"Hi, I missed a call from this number. I see you left a voicemail but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet."
>"This is the UCLA Law admissions office. You say you recently missed a phone call?''
>"Yes sir."
>"Hmm...looks like your admission isn't in the system, it's a good thing you called back, someone must have forgotten to enter it!"
>???????

I have been contemplating giving them a call to figure out what kind of system they are running... I cannot make sense of it and it is driving me crazy

Is it even worth applying this late in the cycle? I know the deadline passed, though the admissions office said they're still taking apps. Probably just want the app fee, as I'm a fringe candidate at best anyway (167, 3.2)

I live in LA, but I rarely receive phone calls from LA numbers (because I am from the midwest).
Today my phone rang with a 310 area code. I got super excited and thought that this was the big UCLA decision!
Unfortunately, it was just a west coast alum from a school to which I have already been accepted (Iowa) calling to ask if I had any questions about that school. Nice gesture, but it was not the 310 call I was hoping for.

I wish UCLA at least had a status checker!!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
