JD changes his questions, so if you want to give information I would do it through PM, so you don't 'out' yourself, just a suggestion. Also, a good idea for those who want the information. Don't plan on the exact same questions, but I'm sure there are fundamental questions that are asked about each application.

You're right; it probably would be better to give this info out in a PM to protect my identity. Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone who is interested can PM me, but no promises on when I will actually get to it.

Also, you are correct that most of his questions were specific to my app. I think, if I would have known the "type" of questions asked, I would have been more prepared and would have done better in the interview.

I got my interview invite almost exactly 3 weeks after my complete date.

Depends on stats/RD or ED. A lot of people (mostly ED I believe) received their interview request within a week of going complete. I'm presupposing that you're RD based on your complete date, and I know the admissions office is crazy busy right now, so I would say within this week or next you'll get one if the adcomm is interested.

That's correct. I've only heard of one who did not interview. Last cycle, interviews seemed to be rare unless you were borderline. This cycle, UVA is talking to all (for the most part) possible admits.

Hmm that makes sense; I guess that's why they're asking for Skype IDs and FaceTime capabilities in the application (did they do this last year?). Although writing a "Why UVA" beforehand might make life easier during the interview.

Yep. I think a LOT of people here are. I think it's just because of the volume.

It's a possibility, but I wouldn't count on it. Like you said, their approach this year is more comprehensive and time consuming. They are saying mid-January for the majority of RD decisions, so the earliest I would think is early or mid-December, but I could be totally wrong.

For those of you who have been accepted already, I'm curious. What was your reaction when they called? What did you say? I don't know how many people that were already accepted are still lingering, but it would be interesting to see how people responded to the call!

Got an email asking to set up a phone call "to tell me congratulations." I'm overseas, so it makes it difficult to get calls. Still, the email was exciting!

sorry if this question has already been answered but do ALL applicants get interviews? i submitted my app ED on monday and just received an email to set up an interview.
