Sorry to stalk you Pacifica, but according to LSN he/she is almost there. The schools that typically YP his/her numbers did not do so.

Wow. It's impressive. As someone who has already gotten one (and expecting two more) YPs, I bow down. I'd rather have a YS admission, though.

I have one YP and probably one more on the way. I'm not sure if I should be happy that I'm getting YPed, which should be a good sign for YS, or if I should worry that Pacifica's in at YS without being YPed and I'm waiting for both. I have higher numbers, but no PhD and no Ivy. My undergrad wasn't even in the top 500.

Waiting is definitely the worst part. I just stare at my phone all the time now. I probably should have stayed off these forums so I wouldn't know when decisions were being released, but the damage is done now.

Yeti Pounding Yes Prime minister "Yelp!" said Peter Yield Protection. Some schools will deny or waitlist applicants they think are likely to get into better schools in order to keep their yield rates (# of people who attend the school/# of people accepted) up.

Congrats to all of you first-round admits!!! I must say that more than the superior job prospects, prestige, or education that you will receive at Stanford, the thing I am most jealous of is the warmth you will get to enjoy that I won't.

Especially vs. up-state NY, which is where I'm stuck until law school, Palto Alto = paradise

Status checker did NOT change until hours after the phone call, and it turned into decision letter sent.

Leafing through previous posts, it seems that DLS status change w/o prior phone call is prob bad news... (someone double check that)

From what I've read, there is no status update for admits; you get the call first. For WL/Dings, the status changes to Decision Letter Sent before you receive official word.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but a DLS before a phone call at this stage is very likely to be a rejection. Stanford usually waitlists everyone in April. If you're waitlisted, you won't hear anything until then.
