And five minutes ago marks the second time my mom has called me in the last two hours. Two mini-heart attacks and counting. I can't take this much longer.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
I have one YP and probably one more on the way. I'm not sure if I should be happy that I'm getting YPed, which should be a good sign for YS, or if I should worry that Pacifica's in at YS without being YPed and I'm waiting for both. I have higher numbers, but no PhD and no Ivy. My undergrad wasn't even in the top 500.callmemaybe84 wrote:Wow. It's impressive. As someone who has already gotten one (and expecting two more) YPs, I bow down. I'd rather have a YS admission, though.EttaJ wrote:
Sorry to stalk you Pacifica, but according to LSN he/she is almost there. The schools that typically YP his/her numbers did not do so.
Waiting is definitely the worst part. I just stare at my phone all the time now. I probably should have stayed off these forums so I wouldn't know when decisions were being released, but the damage is done now.

What is this YP that you speak of and what does it have to do with admissions?hdivine wrote:I have one YP and probably one more on the way. Especially vs. up-state NY, which is where I'm stuck until law school, Palto Alto = paradiseRegulus wrote:Congrats to all of you first-round admits!!! congrats to those who got admitted!
one question - does the status checker get any update before you get your decision?
also, is there any way stanford releases decisions other than via phone call?

Status checker did NOT change until hours after the phone call, and it turned into decision letter sent.karina wrote:congrats to those who got admitted!

Leafing through previous posts, it seems that DLS status change w/o prior phone call is prob bad news... (someone double check that)

From what I've read, there is no status update for admits; you get the call first. For WL/Dings, the status changes to Decision Letter Sent before you receive official word.karina wrote:congrats to those who got admitted!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but a DLS before a phone call at this stage is very likely to be a rejection. Stanford usually waitlists everyone in April. If you're waitlisted, you won't hear anything until then.

tbh i dont really care if it changes to dls without a call. of course I'd love to get in but at this point I'm ready for some clarity about my future. I'm tired of responding "i dont know" everytime someone asks me if I've decided which school I'll be attending. A quick ding from S will at least narrow the list by one. /0LproblemsAnonymous4444 wrote:Ok for months I'm waiting for my status checker to show any movement now I'm praying it'll stay put...

This. I'd rather hear a no now than wait forever to hear something like a waitlist.helix23 wrote:tbh i dont really care if it changes to dls without a call. of course I'd love to get in but at this point I'm ready for some clarity about my future.
