Oh yay. Well hopefully it won't be horribly, horribly long because I'm pretty anxious to hear from Duke. I'm already paranoid about not being picked for PT.venus wrote:I've been UR for more than 20 days now.Eichörnchen wrote:Congrats! 1 month+ for me. I don't think there have been any non-PT admits yet.Eichörnchen wrote:Oh yay. Well hopefully it won't be horribly, horribly long because I'm pretty anxious to hear from Duke. I don't think so either. They will probably start admitting non-PT really soon though. Not sure exactly when they did last year but I think around the beginning of November.Crowing wrote:1 month+ for me. I don't think there have been any non-PT admits yet.

Priority Reserve. Didn't write a Why Duke. Didn't modify my personal statement so that it fit Duke's prompt. I'd say an acceptance would have been surprising given my lack of effort in tailoring my app for Duke. Best of luck to everyone else!!
Also, if anyone is serious about going to Duke, write a Why Duke. It not only gives you more space to advertise yourself, it also reassures Duke that you are serious about attending if you are admitted. For those who don't know, a school is hurt (rankings wise) every time they admit someone who ultimately doesn't attend.

Dang it. Wish I would have read this sending in my PT app tonight. I just hate doing why letters for any law school. I think it feels so disingenuous when taken in consideration with the rest of my application package. Hopefully it'll still be okay. Guess I'll find out in 2 weeks!

Received a priority track acceptance yesterday. 168, 4.01
Took 9 business days from the email saying application was complete. Took about 3 hours for me to get the email after I saw "decision made" on the status checker, email came around 9 pm. I did submit a Why Duke essay too.
These threads have really helped me through the waiting process. Figured I should give back a little too.

Just got my acceptance letter, as well. I received a decision 9 days after going complete. PT application. No Why Duke, but did submit a DS.

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
Just curious what does it say at the top of your status checker? (obviously excluding those who have been admitted)
Mine says: "We appreciate your continued interest in Duke Law School. If you would like to submit additional/updated material, feel free to do so by email or U.S. postal mail"
It sounds like a header for a waitlist applicant.( I am under review)
Does everyone have that?
Yes, I realize I sound paranoid.

Does everyone who gets a Fee Waiver for Duke also get offered accelerated ED?

Any information on how PT invites are chosen? I received an invite, but my numbers don't make me an auto-admit. But this has to be a good sign or at least increase my chances, right??
Best of luck to all you!

Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
From what I can tell, they start with a list based on hard numerical cutoffs obtained via CRS.
Then, they have the option of abbreviating the list based on other factors.
I suspect that intangibles like geographic diversity may have a role in who makes the cut.
In my case, 3.45-55 ugpa with a 170, I'm pretty sure my LSAT score made me an auto-PT/feewaiver. You correctly infer that this does not translate to an auto-admit.
(I got waitlisted, not even Priority Reserve waitlisted, boo!)
For the record, I think I was the only PT applicant who didnt even make PR waitlist.
