True/NYU ED was not easy this year. Someone on the NYU thread said we all should have ED'd to Columbia.cusenation wrote:hume85 wrote:But then you would havespyke123 wrote:Maybe we should've all Ed to nyu instead? Sigh...had to attend NYU.had to pay NYC rent

It would be hilariously ironic if all the T-14 ED cycles were harder this year because more kids applied ED because they thought they had a better chance because of declining apps.francesfarmer wrote:True/NYU ED was not easy this year. Yeah, I wish other schools offered 2 ED rounds...

But wouldn't these kids have worse numbers than normal ED candidates? Unless you mean harder in terms of % accepted.

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
Probably, but they would present more options to adcomms that are probably worried about declining apps and numbers as well. Even if that wasn't the case, it would just mean more applications for adcomms to sift through..which would delay the process.cusenation wrote:francesfarmer wrote:cusenation wrote:hume85 wrote: But then you would havehad to attend NYU.had to pay NYC rent

It is pretty strange that we haven't heard of any dings yet. I wonder what they're waiting for? I hope we don't end up having to wait until the end of the month.

Probably not. I think a second wave of a few acceptances and rejections will go out this friday or earlier, looking at last year's cycle.Crowing wrote:It is pretty strange that we haven't heard of any dings yet. Also, has anybody that was accepted receive their acceptance email yet? Maybe their computers are still having problems, hence no rejection emails....

Haven't received the e-mail but the application checker has info on the seat deposit. They might just send the acceptance packet without the e-mail. I am not sure what to expect since, once I Dean Post said I was accepted, I lost all ability to retain information.senorhosh wrote:Probably not. Also, re: the computers, the status checker message is from last year ("Welcome to the class of 2015" coupled with incorrect ASW dates), so I think Penn might still be having issues with the computers.
ETA: and no, I still haven't received my acceptance email.

Since I wasn't in that wave of ED acceptances I'm just hoping I get waitlisted instead of outright dinged.

It's sad but also oddly comforting that the ED discussions in the Penn, NYU, and Columbia threads are all the same. We're all just sitting around, hoping our schools-of-choice will break with tradition and send out another batch of acceptances or, at the very least, just tell us something.
I'm rooting for you all!

Is there any consensus on when first RD decisions will come out?

Re: Penn C/O 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
ED applicants will probably get rejections throughout the week starting tmw to friday, with a small wave of acceptances friday (if that, since theres a new round of ED).
RD will probably hear monday
Unless they change this due to 2nd round ED...
